Hello - The decorative panel referred to is the front filter panel at the rear of the product - which houses the evaporator - generally, by removing and cleaning - the problem is resolved

Hi there, what diameter and length ofextention hose can I add on for fitting to the window please? Will an extention hose damage the unit?

Hello you may add an extension to the provided tube, it will not damage or effect the air conditioner. The Diameter of the tube is a standard fitting, so you can use an extension hose kit. The hose can be extended from its original length of 38.1cm up to 139.7cm.

Is 64db considered loud? Does some of that noise travel through the exhaust?

Erm, all I could say is don’t buy any portable air conditioner and believe they will be whisper quiet or live up to labels such as “silent” mode. You trade noise for cool air. I’m very pleased with this model, although it is the only one I have ever owned and so far only used on a couple of occasions. It’s noisy on full blast, but once the temperature in the room drops, and if on “auto”, it then lowers to a quieter level of work rate, although still audible. The moans about the length of the exhaust pipe in some reviews are only relevant if you can’t locate the device directly next to a window. The exhaust doesn’t transmit the noise out of the room to any discernible level. If I needed another, I’d buy the same again.
