BARSKA 600 Power 80060 Starwatcher Refractor Telescope

The telescope is easy to set up. The only bad thing is that it's a little tricky to adjust and pretty sensitive to the slightest movement. We get great nights staring at the moon and checking out distant stars. The different eye pieces are easy to switch out, but we did label the different containers just so you don't have to open everyone trying to find the right one.

I bought this telescope for my son, hoping he will develop interest and passion for astronomy. So, just because there is still good chance that this will became another toy "he doesn't want to play with anymore" I was looking for inexpensive but effective option. Compared items sold at toys r us, best buy, hobby lobby and internet. Red hundreds of reviews on several different items and finally summed up everything to this model. I am happy with my purchase: it is good quality beginners telescope, efficient enough to really look and see and enjoy the experience, yet not to pricy. I like the glass eye pieces, they really do make difference, in compare with plastic pieces (had chance to handle one of my friends toys r us bought telescope). It is light, easy to set up and boy! the first time we looked at the full moon! It was such a pleasant family activity, real fun, staying late, having picnic at night, watching the moon! Incredible! No matter how many pictures of moon you've seen: it is so unbelievable to look at it thru the telescope! It is tricky to catch it and follow it if you are using Barrlow lens, but quite simple with the regular angle viewer. Finder scope also work good with regular angle viewer and is not very useful with the extender or Barlow lens. Now we are planing a camping trip in October to watch stars. That means, we need to look for a proper case for this thing, because it doesn't come with any bag or case. Again, this is beginners telescope, don't expect to make a stunning discovery with it, if you are into astronomy or have a student who is taking astronomy, go look for something more expensive. But this is perfect telescope for beginners or younger kids, or for families to explore and have fun together. Best price on the internet!

Very cheaply made with all plastic.

Thinking of buying this product....DONT! Would not advise anyone to purchase this item, cant even get the thing to work. I'snt the point of a telescope to see the stars, buy one that does that. Was very excited when ordering as gift for my husband.........what a let down.

I got this for a friend of mine for his birthday which was last month. I helped him put it together which was a little tricky. The instructions aren't exactly user friendly. Either one of us have ever used one before, and have not been able to figure out how to configure it to be able to see anything out of it. It did come with a CD which he hasn't had time to view yet. Once he figures out how to properly use the thing I will change the rating accordingly. One thing in it's favor though, it is a sturdy made instrument as far as I can tell. I guess I should of gotten him one for a beginner, but they seemed so cheap compared to this one.

Easy to set up and use bought it for my 11 year old and she likes it

My grandson loved unwrapping this telescope on Christmas morning and will have hours of stargazing fun in the years to come. It is light weight, easy to use and was very affordable.

I am enjoying my telescope....I would have been a lot happier if the description of the product had said....assembly required...and also directions on how to use it. ( Ex: changes lens and what each lens will do) Overall ....I have had to use trial and error to figure out how to operate the telescope correctly.
