Stearic acid is one of the most common saturated fatty acids found in nature after palmitic acid and has an enormous variety of uses as an ingredient in cosmetics and industrial products. It is extracted from vegetable fats and some oils (mostly palm or coconut). It is also used as a lubricant (in shaving crèmes and deodorants), to change the consistency and melting temperature of a product (in candles, lotions). Stearic acid is extensively utilized in the production of candles. It is used to harden the wax and strengthen the candle. It also has an impact on the melting point of the wax, improving the durability and consistency of the candle. Stearic acid is also used in the production of soap; it hardens soaps. It gives products (shampoos/body washes, crèmes) a pearly color when used in combination with lye (NaOH or similar products

Did the Job to thicken a Watery Hand Cream
I like it. Served the purpose of thickening a hand cream that became watery over time. 2.4 tsp is what is typically needed for an 8 oz cream. Be careful though, as it doesn't thicken immediately and adding more is not the correct thing to do.Two complaints:1) Made the cream slightly gritty. Had to do it 2 more times before I got it correct2) No instructions on how to "melt" it into a liquid to add to hand cream. This resulted in # 1; however, I understand people use it for different purposes

First time user but seems great
This is my first time buying Stearic Acid. I used it to make my first ever transparent soap. And while my soap came out more yellow then I would have liked it did pass the transparency tests and the yellow was most likely caused by my sugar solution getting too hot, or my glycerin according to those who helped me trouble shoot in the FB group. This is very white, looks like wax (duh) and smells like crayons. lol. As far as I know, that is exactly as it should be.

Perfect for Candles
This stearic acid hardens really easily, so just be aware of that when you use it. The material is naturally waxy and crumbly. It works especially well for hardening candles, and it keeps the ingredients together well. It keeps products hard and solid. I just used it in my soy wax candles with essential oils, rose petals powder, mica, rose petals, and pink himalayan salt. It works beautifully!

Great price and quality
I’m trying this out in my homemade body butter and salves. It’s an alternative to the harsh chemicals you find in store bought. So far great!Shipped and arrived as promised.

Nice product. Easy to work with.
Pleased with product. It melted nicely leaving no white spots in my soap. Texture is nice and helps it melt. Flaky rather than granular.
