Excellent mini stereo with networking
Just what I was looking for. I've only had this unit for a few days, but so far, it is living up to expectations. Small form factor, but very solid build quality. Sounds great, even with the supplied onkyo speakers. I wasn't expecting a lot out of the included speakers, but I was pleasantly surprised. Good mids and highs, and just OK bass (I don't like overdone bass). I compared these with my paradigm atom speakers (v7) which I hooked up to this unit. The onkyo drove those just fine. The paradigms, as you might expect, are more accurate / neutral sounding. The onkyo speakers sound decent, even when compared to the paradigms though. Not much to complain about for speakers that came w/ the unit. Now, for the unit itself... LOVE it. I think the price is a tad steep, however.. I have an Onkyo 709 in my main HT setup, and an Onkyo 509 in my bedroom. This new 755 went into my daughter's room (yeah, she's spoiled :)) - and she's only 7). They both perform well, so I went for the 755 - and so far, I am not disappointed in the least. The remote is basic, but it gets the job done. I do wish it had a bit bigger, more prominent buttons for the volume up/down keys though, as well as the oft used play, pause, stop keys (they should have made those keys a different shape + larger).Similar networking functions as my other onkyo receivers, in a much smaller form factor. Actually, it has one add'l "net" function which they label in the 755 as "home media" -- this is in addition to the standard "DLNA" net option. The "home media" option allows you to navigate directly through folders & files on your PC /etc. (DLNA based server basically) & play music files ... that was an option I really wanted on my onkyo 509 (it does not have it) - and this has it! Sweet.CD works well, mp3 and flac all play nicely over my home network (also tried a USB stick too, works fine). DLNA functions I use a lot, plus internet radio & pandora. All work well.Nice sound, small footprint. CD. A full complement of networking, DLNA functions & internet content. What more do you need? Highly recommended.

Good sound quality and versatility
The audio quality of the Onkyo Mini System is very high for such a small format and price, I was pleasantly surprised.Important is its ability to play audio files from hard drives or USB flash drives, this is the future of playback. However, Onkyo does not like hard drives with a mixed content, for instance, audio and photos. I apparently tries to read photos as audios and gets stuck. On the other hand, my Samsung Blu-Ray player reads almost all music file formats flawlessly showing the titles on the TV, and I can direct the sound to my Onkyo system via the digital optical cable or analog audio cable (practically the same quality).A good feature is the ability to play audio via the bluetooth USB adapter sold separately. I've tried playing a youtube music video on my iPad in this way and it works. However, video and audio are out of sync. A better option is to use Chromecast to get the picture on TV and audio on the Onkyo connected to the TV, and all is in sync.Onkyo can be connected to the Internet to listen to Internet radio stations. Up to now, I connected to Pandora. It requires the user account to be set previously via computer or tablet. Also one has to login using the remote control that is cumbersome. Onkyo has a preset list of stations that are similar to Pandora and all require login. I haven't checked Internet radio stations that do not require login yet. Will report later. On the other hand, it is more practical to play Internet radio on a tablet and stream it to Onkyo via bluetooth or to the TV via Chromecast, so that Internet connection seems to be useless. This experience lead me to the conclusion that what is required from an audio system (integrated with TV) is a good audio quality and good inputs. Both are fine in the Onkyo Mini System, while all other more advanced features seem to be unnecessary. However, USB playback becomes important if this system is used as standalone.A disappointment it that the system becomes very warm even on standby. It apparently is sucking a lot of power from the grid. I hope that it won't burn.. For this I give the product only four stars.

I've owned many (small and large) Stereo Systems through the years and this is one of the best I've ever had
This ONKYO System far exceeded my expectations. I've owned many (small and large) Stereo Systems through the years and this is one of the best I've ever had. Very easy to set up and use. Has all the features one could ever need and most important to me was that the Sound Quality rivals that of my large (very expensive} system with 42" tall floor speakers! The Remote Control is very easy to use and I love the Remaining Time Feature you can easily access from the Remote with the press of one button. It also has plenty of Tone Adjustments and Inputs for other Devices. A very compact, high quality, well made unit. It's worth much more than the asking price, so if your looking for a nice Stereo System - BUY THIS ONE!
