Well done
One of the things I enjoyed the most about this book is how it hooked me in the beginning. I could not put this book down from the moment I opened it. I was so impressed with how well the characters were developed, but it did seem a bit slow. At some point in the book, I thought maybe it could have been edited a bit, since there was a point that it seemed to drag on. After I was finished, however, there is nothing that I would have edited out. It was a fantastic mystery. There was such a diverse cast of characters that could have been guilty of the crime and Christopher kept us guessing right up until the end. It was nice to see the book told from two perspectives, even though this is a writing technique I do not usually like. Christopher picked great points two switch between characters and it helped the audience connect with at least one character, if not both. At some point, it was a little alarming to know that I could, perhaps, be empathizing with a killer. This book lends itself so well to many discussion points, such as: PTSD, choking games, bullying, drug use, conservation, etc. I think this was a well written piece and is one I would recommend to anyone who enjoys mysteries.

Lucy Christopher does not disappoint!! The Killing Woods is even better than stolen! I could not put it down after the first chapter!

Well-written and insightful
I honestly expected more from this book, given the raving reviews, but I'm not exactly a young adult. Maybe that target audience will find it more captivating. But, it was very well-written, thoughtful, and evocative. The author's other book, Stolen, however, was incredible!

A story to keep your attention
A very well written story. A look at life from several different viewpoints. An interesting look at PSTD and it's effects on a family, how it is sometimes viewed by outsiders. The author draws you into the story and keeps your attention.

Adequate and Forgettable
I feel all the opportunities for fleshing out these paper-thin characters were skipped in favor of fast pacing. This is by no means a bad book, but I was hoping for complexity or depth and this novel didn't have it. The author is gifted as a writer, but I would love to see her work on her characters a bit more.

3 Stars
I think I enjoyed Stolen so much that I had high expectations for this one. Emily wasn't a bad main character, but the story didn't grab me. I still finished it and am happy I did.I will read more by this author if she puts more out there.

Sehr fesselnd

Good book but probably aimed at older teens
Great writing and very good book. Feel this book is more for 15+ and the older teen reader because of the issues related to cause of the victim's death.

Gripping, surprising and edgy
I read this book a few years ago and recently revisited it. Contemporary YA may be struggling in some ways with the imperative to reflect current issues and lives but The Killing Woods stands up well because the writing is so good. The dual narrative is handled deftly with two distinctive voices and perspectives that finally, together, reveal the truth about a teenager's death. The prose is taut, the pace is heart-stopping but this is never at the expense of emotion which is raw and vital, but also satisfyingly complex and surprising. Details of The Game are handled carefully - this is definitely a 13+ read that respects its readers and makes for a thrilling ride.

The killing Woods
This book is gripping, it is full of mysteries entailed in one another.I feel it is for the ages of 14 and above as it contains quite disturbing imagery but a very good read and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

An Interesting read!
A very interesting read, I found it very difficult to put the book down! The style of the book means that the chapters alter between characters. I would recommend reading this book.
