Best camera I ever seen or ownedI did the research and home work on some of these models, and found this model did a lot with a great price, and amaZon had the best deal,..I use it every day, I made some videos placed on you tube, got the link, place the link on eBay to better show my items and sales sales sales, wow,.. I carry this thing everywhere, you never know when you need to catch some footage in HD,..I went online and found out what every little thing it does, That way I understand it completely, it does very well,..I am very pleased with it,...I can tell you that I give this item a full 5 STAR RATING and amaZon had the best deal online or offline,...You can see the Moon with this thing, It has an automatic focus and you can see a label from a distance and read it, yes it is that good,... HD quality is very good,.. I can film a video then replay it, and pause it, and press the photo button and it will take the photo of the screen WOW, and the picture was so good I used it for my computer laptop screen 15.6 and it looks great, and fills the whole screen corner to corner in vivid detail high quality,Do the research on this model the JVC GZ e200, and you will see it has a lot of features for the money,...I like the 3 inch touch screen and how small this thing is,.. easy to operate once you found out what everything does,..Get the best deal right here on amaZon, I know because I looked around for a while and amaZon had the best deal.Thank You amaZon and Thanks for reading my feedback,..Now go buy one right now, and catch all those moments of time in HD,...Flm your family,.. So when I bought this, I couldn't wait to get it in the mail, but after a month of having it, I can honestly say that, well I got what I paid for. First off, if you watched the infomercial for this camcorder, they made it sound like, you couldn't get a better camera if you tried, unfortunately, they're wrong. Now I'm not saying it's bad, but I'm not saying it's good either, here's why, it has focus problems, and I don't think it has a manual focus mode, so you can't focus it yourself, the auto focus can be VERY frustrating at times, also, I do not like the microphone that it has, I also don't like how you cannot use a wireless mic for it, as it has no mic input, and the plastic that is used for the body of this camcorder, feels as if it would break very easily, like if you would drop it once from pocket height on cement ground, it would completely shatter. But the up sides to this camera are, it shoots 1080p, which is great, it has a nice touch screen, it shoots pretty good in dark conditions, it has 40X optical zoom, and 200x digital zoom (You need to change the settings to enable digital zoom), it can take okay pictures, and it's pretty light weight. Overall, I would say that I would recommend this camera for somebody who just wants it for taking video of things such as graduation, vacation videos, or just videos around the house, But not for somebody who is looking into shooting homemade films, hidden camera prank videos (Which is what I bought it for) because it has no mic input, and to be able to hear anything somebody is saying, you need to be close with the camera, thus not making it a hidden camera prank, or for use of any type of professional use, this camera is far from being professional, like I said before, you get what you pay for. The first camcorder was defective, which can happen I guess. After recording some test video, there was very little sound, even with the sound turned completely up. I checked with JVC and they wanted me to hook the camera up to the TV. My thought if the video was suppose to have sound when viewed on the camcorder, and it didn't, I was returning it.Returns are always so easy with Amazon. I reordered another of the same model and the second camera works appropriately.Another concern was I signed up for Amazon Prime for 2 day delivery for $79 a year. The camera and memory card came within the timeframe but the accessories were another matter. They came in 3 days. Seems like if they were ordered at the same time and under Prime, they should have come within the same timeframe. I will be canceling this after the 30 day trial.

After using a newer Canon Vixia HF R400, this camera's strengths are apparent. The image stabilization is nice and does a decent job of stabilizing jerky panning on a tripod. The Everio's low light shooting outperforms the Vixia's by a long shot. Saving money by buying external memory is definitely my preference, so this fits that bill. The stock battery is terribly small, so I bought a larger aftermarket battery. You really can't rely on the stock battery for more than 30 minutes of shooting.Being an older model now, I would only buy this if it were under $200 and new. I somehow got it for a steal at $150 new; at that price I'd be tempted to do again just to give it as a gift, even now that the camcorder is a few years old. I would use this experience to judge newer JVC camcorders.
