Viewsonics VSMA-604C 4-Port Professional Cable TV HDTV Signal Booster/Amplifier (Retail Package)

I live out in the boonies. Therefore stations are some distance away. So, I have a multi-element yagi antenna in the attic aimed in the direction that has the 4 networks ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox with a line that feeds down into the basement where I have a splitter that sends the TV signal to several rooms for multiple TVs in the house. The splitter adds loss that weakens the signal. For stations in line with the front of my antenna, I can pick up local stations about 60 miles away with no problem. The signal strengths run from 75-90 out of 100 as perfect. But PBS stations that are off to the side are weak and pixelate when I try to watch them. Their signal strength runs 40-50 and that is not good enough to get watchable pictures. Replacing my splitter in the basement with this amplifier made a world of difference. Now the stations in line with my antenna run 90-100 in signal strength and the PBS stations off to the side (about 50 miles away are running in the 75-80 range of signal strength now with no pixelation.The amplifier is in the basement and my house is a 2-story, so the coax line from the attic to the basement is about 20-feet long. From the amplifier output, I have coax running to several rooms - each more than 20 feet long. This amplifier comes with a power supply that you have to plug into an ac outlet for it to work. There are no cables, so you have to supply a short cable to feed the power from the power supply to the amplifier. It is a standard TV/cable coax cable with standard F-1 connectors on each end that are the same as your TV connectors. So any coax you have around the house with standard F-1 connectors on each end will work for the poser supply cable.If you don't use all the output ports on the amplifier, you will need to terminate the unused ports with a Coaxial F Type 75 Ohm Terminator or your amplifier may not work properly or even fail. These terminators are available on Amazon in multi-packs like 4-10 terminators at reasonable prices. This amplifier works great for my particular situation and I am very happy with my purchase.

Installed in May, failed in August. It worked great when it worked, cleared up a lot of pixellated channels that I wouldn't have been able to receive otherwise. In August my reception dropped way off, and I put a signal analyzer on the output - it was blocking the antenna signal. Removed it and the picture was immediately back to pre-May quality.Bummed about the quality, was expecting it to last longer than it did. Installed in the attic, so not exposed to weather.

Caused interference. Had to remove, Waste of money. Didn't try until return period was over, my mistake.

I have had this product for 8+ years. recently my reception started acting up and found out this is no longer manufactured, so I turned to amazon. We live 80+ miles from the local tv towers in SE MN and we pull in about 55 channels(4-1, 5-1, 5-2 etc.) between the cities, Rochester, and Mason City. Works great! Wont be disappointed!

I connected this to a HDTV antenna I purchased from Amazon and disappointingly it doesn't work. I tried connecting the TV to each of the 4 outputs and not a single OTA HDTV channel was detected. However when I connected another cheaper signal amplifier, I was able to detect 4 channels.

This amp works very well. When we used it to boost over the air signals it increased the number of channels significantly. We have no complaints.

works like a charm. I'll give it 10 stars!!!!! I used this to boost the cable signal on the 2nd level. it works really good.

Seem to work well. Easy to install and the bi-Direction is not hindering communication back to the cable company.
