Great product, one of PAIZO’s best!I really wish all their AP splat books were so well designed!

I have a group of players that are going to begin Rise of the Runelords and I thought this book would help me cement the importance of Sandpoint as their home. It's where they live, where they work, their friends live there. I want them invested and to do that I need to flesh out some details. This is a great book for that.THE MAP is held in place by glue to the back cover. I used a hairdryer to soften the glue and then carefully removed the map without damage. I've read too many reviews here about torn and ruined maps.I sincerely hope you read this before you try taking the map out. Otherwise, this is a good book to have handy.

I got this to go with the RoTRL campaign since we are starting it soon. I like having the extra description of the town, all the people, places, what the stores sell, ect. And I like the fold out map of the town that came in the back. I had no issue removing it. I just made sure to be careful. IT will definitely come in handy

Awesome book, and I'm sure I'll love the content, but holy crap! I am so livid right now that I can't even dive into it! The pull out map of Sandpoint was so securely glued onto the back cover, that THERE IS NO WAY to get the map off without wrinkling or creasing it, marring the ink and making this customer disappointed enough to subtract two stars; one for the map fiasco and the other for the subpar binding. Why not a pocket to hold the map? Why not just inserted between the pages? Why the hell not GLUE THE FRICKIN' EDGE instead of the middle of the gol'rammed back cover?!?!?!? I am so angry. The photo is me holding up a spot of the Gorilla Glue they must have used to fuse the map to the back cover, and the resulting tear that happened when trying to remove said glue. It took me a solid 5 minutes of gently loosening it to get that far! Ugh.

EDIT: USE A HAIR DRYER ON HOT FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES ON THE BACK COVER AND THE MAP WILL FALL LOOSE, the use it on the glue on the map rolling it off with your thumb, everything comes off and both are undamaged!!!!Worth buying I also bought the digital version on Paizo but unfortunately the large fold out map inside the back cover is glued in place and pulls the printed finish off it and wrinkles the map when separating! The inside cover is also printed with a nice map but the paper is thicker so that one isn't ruined! What a shame this is such an awesome resource and it wasn't cheap @ $27!Think about it guys!!! PAPER ON PAPER AND GLUE! Hmm I wonder whats going to happen? I'm returning it for an exchange and maybe try a hair dry to loosen the glue, worth a shot!

Sigh. This book is useless. The characters are very much 2 dimensional, very stereotypical. You have your ragingly gay actor type in charge of the local theater, your asexual woman whom everyone lusts after, absolutely no forms of prejudice despite the presence of half orcs, goblins which are traditionally evil races, and all of this in a vanishingly tiny city (low population). This means that there is a huge over representation of LGBT types based on the population. According to real world statistics, 3.8% of the population should be some sort of variant sexuality, which is 47 in a population of 1240 (Sandpoint). Wanna guess how many of those are in prominent positions throughout the book? The writing is so stereotypical, so much "I'm totally defined by my exaggerated sexuality" that I honestly don't ever want to use this book. And yes, I own and read it.

The art work is nice and so is the map if you can get it unglued without damaging it.The content is painful to read as Paizo pushes their Agenda and they do not like diverse view points.They have included very basic dungeon maps and some ideas to populate those dungeons.Save your money. Wotc has much better adventures.
