New Cat Condos140009-Neutral Large Cat Play Gym Cat Tree

It is my understanding that this was a purchase of a returned item. There was a review that it was not sturdy and wobbled and might not be safe for a cat. The unit I received is fine but as there were no instructions I did change the posts out until they went into the lower posts fairly easily but required a LOT of turning to get them firm, sturdy, and not wobbly. Just kept turning until they wouldn't turn anymore. My cat weighs over 11 pounds and by being over 6 years old she climbs easily but not as though she is being chased by another cat and jumping to each post. No tools were needed, just turn each top post or perch into a lower post. It meets my satisfaction and my cat really seems to like looking out the patio door perched in various places. I've had several smaller cat trees/perches over the years and this is the nicest one.

My goal buying this cat tree was to have something solid, sturdy and well made, covered with real carpet, not that cheap plushy covering they distroy in an instant. And not made in China ! Those things never last very long ! Let me tell you...1) shipment was faster than predicted 2) assembly was a breeze and took me 5 minutes ! 3) Tree is very sturdy, a little wobbly to reach the top level, but that didn't seem to bother my 2 cats ! 4) I have one 9 pound, 18 years old cat and one 12 pounds 13 years old cat. With lots of catnip spread on the whole cat tree, it didn't take a minute for both to start exploring and going on all the levels. They have their very active moments and they both, mostly the youngest (13 y.) cat, had a blast with the whole thing, scratching right away, jumping from one to the other level , and finally settle in one of the platforms to sleep. BTW, those platforms are nice and wide, plenty of space for my 12 pounder to sleep comfortably. It is not one of the cheapest cat tree, but you pay for the quality and the sturdiness of it. I tell you ...it is worth every penny ! Conclusion is....My cats and I are very happy with this purchase ! Hope it will last !

The media could not be loaded.  Edit: After having it for two weeks, when they go in the top tier the weight makes it lean a bit, even after being tightened. My boys are no more than 10-12 lbs, so I couldn’t imagine this tree working for a cat that weighs anymore than that. Regardless they still love it and use it on the daily.A pretty nice cat tree, sturdy base and materials! My older cat was sold immediately with little persuasion, my younger guy is interested but unsure so far, don’t think he has discovered the hole in the second base to get up to the other levels. The cradle on the bottom is quite big and sure to be a favorite hangout spot. I do love this tree and it’s design, though I only gave it four stars (almost three) because the two perches posts are quite wobbly when they are climbing up and standing in them, that the cats are a bit wary, but are fine once they settle in and curl up. The tree is sturdy overall not afraid of it toppling over. The longest post looks slightly crooked from time to time, so I fear the bolt gets bent when weight is put on it, I wish they would have added more hardware to cut down on the wobble. I also wish the bottom of the second tier/base with the hole was covered on the underside with carpet too in case the cats decide to play a game of peekaboo I’m afraid of the wood being exposed. The posts/tiers on top have to be tightened every couple days from use too. It would probably be best to place in a corner up against the wall to help with the wobble. I think if they made the posts holding the tiers were thicker and had more hardware to secure them it wouldn’t wobble as much, maybe a suggestion for improving this model. Despite my concerns, I am satisfied with this tree and at least one of my cats uses it several times daily for bird viewing and naps.

UPDATE: after only 4 weeks, this worthless piece of junk is shredded through to the insides. Looks like it’s years old, not weeks i have included pics of how destroyed it is. The weights we need at the base just to keep if from falliing over, and the pieces of it that are all over the house. No response from the manufacturer after my initial poor review. I expect the same silence. This is one of the worst products i’ve ever purchased. Run far away. Original review below. For the price, I cannot stress what junk this thing is. It is flimsy, so top heavy we have weights at the base to keep it from falling over, and have to clean up around it everyday because the carpeting on it sheds 10X more than my cat does. It has plastic hairs hanging off all over and looks like junk. If it wasn’t such a hassle to return, I would not have kept this. Look elsewhere. This is not worth the price. Not even close

I spent a lot of time looking at cat trees online and so happy with the purchase! This is a great cat tree for one or multi-cat household! It arrived in a huge box with most parts already assembled. Its well-made, the wood is solid, and its quite sturdy! Both perches are very large - 2 small cats can easily fit into one. It had impressive height, 3 platforms, good places to hide and play, and a scratching post. My cat can jump onto it no problem because of the large stable base!!It just has a great combination of height, play and sleep places, and sturdy craftsmanship. The carpet is just a neutral carpet that you would find in your home. My cat loves to scratch on it too. Its great value, has everything a cat would need, and looks good without taking up the whole room!!!

This company is known for making very good quality, solid wood trees. This particular model is not one of their best. I agree with the other reviewers that it's flimsy, the posts are too skinny, and the top two ledges are very wobbly. It's also not at all easy for cats to reach the top perch because of it's location in relation to the other perches. I was disappointed in this tree from day one. It's still standing after being purchased last year, but for such a reputable company I expected much better quality. My Beatrice cat tree is still going strong, and still looks great after ten years of daily use, and five cats. Now, that's an excellent tree. Would not trust New Cat Condos trees again.
