Dinosaurs in the Supermarket

My boys love this book. I give it as gifts and take it to parent reading days at school. Always a hit. Also teaches names of many dinosaurs with images inside front cover.

Great book

This is a fun book with just a little bit of an edge.SPOILER. Dinosaurs are hiding in the supermarket. Our young hero can see them, but no one else can. The dinos get into some messy devilment, and our hero is blamed. The dinosaurs help clean up, and everyone ends up happy ever after. The edge, of course, comes from the fact that no one believes our boy and it looks like he might be in trouble. When the dinos reveal themselves at the end, all is forgiven.So, the book is not only fun and silly, there is a bit of drama about how it will all resolve. That's pretty sophisticated and adds an element of dramatic tension I didn't expect, but appreciated.The prose is spare; the story is carried by the antic illustrations. The dinos are charmingly irresponsible, and it's especially fun to try to find them early on when they're hiding themselves amongst the produce and canned goods. Our hero is cheerful and calm.So, it's silly and fun, and offers opportunities to talk about what's going on. This struck me as a fun, slightly advanced, picture book with a bit of oomph. A nice find.

This has quickly become my nephew's favorite book to read at my house. He has an entire shelf of dinosaur, jungle animal, bright children's books, but always asks for this one. Sometimes we read it multiple times in a row and he is always delighted when the dinosaurs come out to play.I recently purchased Dinosaurs in my School to give to him for Easter - looks like another beloved book in the making!

My 3yr old LOVES this book and I actually enjoy reading it. He loves to yell the parts that say "There are DINOSAURS in the SUPERMARKET!"

My 2 yo likes this book a lot. She looks for dinosaurs on its pages and is generally very engaged

Cute idea for a book but the text isn't great. Lacks the flowing rhymes that makes children's books so fun. Illustrations are pretty good. There are some truly wonderful kids books out there but this isn't one of them.

Tiene su gracia. Es un poco repetivitivo y raro y se podrían sustituir algunas páginas para mejorarlo. Pero sirve para echar un rato

This book was an absolute joy, funny, beautifully illustrated, with the type of humour that would especially appeal to small boys. I bought this book for 2 small boys, typical energetic, mischievous, happy go lucky children, and I am sure they will enjoy it. I did , made me giggle, and I am a mature lady..😊

Simpatico lo uso per la buonanotte per il mio bimbo di 5 anni che sta imparando l'inglese. Molto semplice e divertente.

My kids love everything "dinosaur" so they loved this book a lot. Would definitely recommend this book to everyone. :)

Great book! Love the story, love the pictures. My dinosaur obsessed three year old loves the book. It’s a great story to read to him now and I know, a couple of years down the line he’ll enjoy it again when he’s learning how to read himself
