Nemo Hornet Ultralight Backpacking Tent

Very excited for this new piece of gear. Very light and compacts down incredibly small when the poles are packed away separately. Right around 2 lbs or less. The material for the 10D fly is thin but feels durable. The fly bars are a nice improvement from the old hornet and create more head space inside the tent. Pretty small for a two person but with two doors/ vestibules, it can be done no problem. For one person it’s huge. The bathtub floor is durable but I would still use something for a foot print, I used a small bit of painters plastic. Stood solid in high winds without using the guy lines. Haven’t tested it in the rain yet so I cannot comment on that. Overall I think this is a great little tent. Lightweight & good material. We’ll see how she holds up in future backpacking trips here in Minnesota.

Ok. For the weight and set up is tad tricky. Kept condensation out but the walls need a bit more design tweaking and there needs to be same adjustable cord connectors all way around. Half is not good enough. It won't come with enough stakes to set up correctly which is a common thing amongst these backpacker style tents .,You need 10 which adds weight but can't be set up properly with what it comes with.

Great ultralight tent. Surprisingly stable, big enough for 2 people plus some smaller gear or (more comfortably) one person with all their gear. The vestibules are roomy and the rain fly really keeps the wind and rain out. I've tested this model tent in +30mph winds with moderate rain for 8 hours with no issue whatsoever. Inside stayed dry and tranquil. Good ventilation but not drafty at all. The materials are high quality, ultralight, and *durable* with that caveat that moderate care should be taken with this tent if you want it to last. Ie. Pulling zippers slow and not catching any material in the zips, using a tyvek footprint on rough/pointy surfaces, and storing it (uncompressed) only once it's completely dry. Keeps bugs out. Can be a little tricky to get the rain fly lined up just right, but it just requires staking out the guys as far as possible and adjusting the guy lines a little at a time until everything is taut. I love this tent, and plant to user it for all my upcoming section hikes and any thru-hikes I decide to do.

A one person tent is a tight tent.I sleep with my pack under my knees (under my sleeping bag) when on my back.there is room to put the bag outside in the vesitble but the fly doesn't come down that far.I wanted small and light. This is small and light.I got it on sale. If I paid full price ($300+) I'd probably get the 2person. not that much more weight or size when packed and you can put your pack on the other side then. You cannot do that with this one.But ooooooooh is it well mad, small and light :)

This is my favourite tent. Far cheaper and mor durable than the elite. Definitely go for this one. Buy with the footprint for increased durability. The seller price matched for me which took off 25%

Waterproof in heavy rain/wind, super lightweight and small, doesn’t hold much heat. Took me a few tries and a youtube video to set up the first time, but I do not camp often. Only not 5 stars since you need the matching footprint to set up correctly.

Understanding this is an ultralight tent, the setup is extremely easy to complete. However, the 2-man tent is barely enough for one person. The mainframe poles are very fragile. I awoke from camping this morning only to find three holes in the front mesh of my tent. I want to like this tent, unfortunately, I’m disappointed.

Soooo lightweight and easy to setup. My 13 yr old uses it for Boy Scout camping trips.

Actually it’s one person but very good tent, or 1+ compact girl 🤪.
