My Big Fat Greek Life - The Entire Series

Actually, very entertaining show!
It's amazing to see the negative revues of this show from people who seem negative. If you watch the show to be entertained, which was the purpose of this show, you will not be disappointed! It is funny, light-hearted, and is not meant to be a competition to the movie, but rather a chance for us to continue with the characters we loved from the film. My only disappointment was having only 7 episodes. For those who criticize the show for being cancelled so quickly, this is not the only good show to meet an untimely demise. (look at Firefly, another excellent entertaining show which was cancelled after 11 or 12 episodes). The first episode, "The House Gift" is a great reintroduction to the characters. Yes, Toula is now Nia, and Ian is now Thomas. I was able to get over that fact with little pain, so I don't see the big deal for some who cannot seem to live with the new names, or the fact that Thomas is played by a different actor. It's a TV show, not real life, and these are actors. Things change. Get over it and enjoy the show.#2 - The Empire Strikes Back - Nick is hilarious in this episode, and Voula is great. (In fact, she is the best and most funny character in this series.) Gus and Maria are preparing a will to see who will inherit the "empire" (restaurant and house). Nia inherits the restaurant, and she is none to happy about the aspect of being just like her father. Watch this one just to see the scene with Voula, Nia and Nick as the women try to approach the subject of who will get the restaurant to Nick.#3 - The Free Lunch - man does this one seem to get the criticism! This one is funny too, not a classic, but it is funny, which is what this show is about. Nia messes up an "arrangement" the parents have with the police, and it is up to her, Voula (again the best character, she is hilarious!) and Nicky to save the day.#4 - Arianna - this one seems liked by most who have watched this series and it is funny, but the funniest part is Voula giving Arianna a mock interview!#5 - Big Night - Seeing the three woman scream "Yanni!!!!" and run toward him like mad school girls is reason enough to watch this episode again and again! Hilarious!#6 - Nick Moves Out - Maria and Nick are the main reasons to watch this episode. Even at only 6 episodes so far, character development is great for these two. Too bad the show couldn't continue as I'm sure we would have seen character development of the others.#7 - Greek Easter - "Best Easter ever!" Funny episode, sad to know it was the last.So ends the show, which was such a shame. No sex scenes, no murders, no missing children, no medical emergencies, no infidelity, no profanity. What a shame. With those it might have lasted longer. But for those of us who don't need all of that crap in our shows, My Big Fat Greek Life is a reminder that you don't have to be crude to be funny, you don't have to be obscene to be entertaining.

NOT like the Movie.
The main characters are nothing like the movie. She is playing a wimpy role, he is playing a role where everyone has the "bow down" to his wishes. In the first movie he was caring and more loving. The different actor in the series is nothing like the main role guy in the movie. I was very disappointed in this series .

Too short, not many episodes. John Corbett is not starring in shows.
This was pretty good but not very many episodes. I wish that it lasted much longer before I got through all the shows. MOST of the cast from the My Big Fat Greek....movies were in these TV shows which was great but I REALLY MISSED John Corbett!

Short Season But As Good As The Movies
Somehow missed this series even though I enjoyed the movies. A couple of actor changes, but by and large, mostly the same ensemble that kept me laughing during the movies continued to do so inthe series.

It is fun to watch this between movie 1 & 2 and ...
So this isn't Toula and Ian from the movies but rather Nia and Thomas. The show was rushed into production and only 7 of the cast are back-we never see Tio Taki-it is sort of a running joke that he is always sick. Still the pros are all here and they are as polished as ever. It is fun to watch this between movie 1 & 2 and the guest stars are a lot of fun to watch.

its just too bad it did not last as long as it should ...
Unfortunately this series only went seven episodes, so that is why it is only getting four out of five stars. This series has all of the quality comedy the movies had; its just too bad it did not last as long as it should have compared to some of the current sitcoms that are currently on the air on US television that just have little to no humor and no plot to speak of.

Für Liebhaber und Kenner.......
also 5 Sterne gebe ich nicht. Schon alleine wegen der Klatschkonserve ;-))Ian wurde getauscht. War mir klar und komme damit zurecht.Ansonsten witzige Komödie für diejenigen, dieMy Big Fat Greek Wedding 1/2, Life in ruins usw bereits kennen.

Very good, but not quite in the league with the movie
This show has everything going for it that was the movie, but somehow still manages to come up a bit short, perhaps the restrictions imposed with a 30 minute show. I liked it, I enjoyed it, but didn't LOVE it like I did the original movie, which was delightful.

Lieber die Filme sehen
Wir haben nach anderthalb Folgen ausgemacht und auch nicht wieder eingeschaltet. Die Serie ist kein Vergleich zu den Filmen und hat uns enttäuscht.
