Good item. Lights are orange, but here’s a fix for that…
2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD - So, this mirror is good. Not great, but good. Yes, the turn signal lights are orange, NOT red like the OEM mirror (fix for that is below). I am not sure yet if there is distortion in the glass. I will need to use it a bit more. The glass is not super high quality, but it seems usable. The removal of the old mirror was kind of a pain, but there are numerous videos on this on the Tube of the You. The wiring connector was the biggest pain to get undone. An automotive pick comes in handy here. As far as the orange turn signal lights go, you can swap out the LEDs that are in your old OEM mirror. Each mirror’s LED unit is housed in a small triangular “box” on the backside of the mirror. It is held closed by some tabs. The OEM mirror’s LEDs have removable wiring (small connector), while the replacement mirror’s LEDs are soldered on. Leave the OEM mirror’s small connector in place. You will need to cut the wires on each mirror’s LEDs, leaving enough wire on the new LEDs so the housing can be stripped easily. Once the OEM LEDs are removed from the old mirror, and the new mirror’s LEDs are removed, simply swap the OEM LEDs to the new mirror (green wire to black, yellow wire to red). I used some heat activated shrink tubing (with solder built in) to pair the wires. Note: The OEM LEDs have deflectors built in, but the new mirror has a separate deflector piece. This piece must be removed from the small triangular “box” on the backside of the new mirror. It comes out easily though. The old LEDs will fit in the triangular space, but they will not be snug. A bit of hot glue on the green/yellow wire will adhere it to the mirror backing. Be sure not to get any glue in between the mirror and the LEDs. I found that pushing the LEDs as far back as they could go (towards the center of the mirror), then adhering them worked best to get them centered in the correct position. Once the swap is made, test the wiring connections FIRST before attaching the mirror to the truck. If all is well, you should be good to go. I hope this is helpful to anyone who was annoyed by the orange lights! Now I have a new mirror with proper red turn signal lights! I am hopeful that there is not the “funhouse mirror” issue, but we will see. So far, I am not seeing much distortion. I was sure to get the glass completely attached to the mirror itself, and make sure it all “clicked” in.

Easy install and a great price
The original mirror on my Yukon had a large cloudy spot in the middle. Had I known these mirrors were so cheap and easy to install, I would have bought it years ago!

It Is What It Is
Bought this for my '04 Chevy Tahoe. The drivers side mirror went foggy and needed to be replaced. The mechanic wanted over $200 for part and install. I found this replacement here in Amazon and was excited since it was so much cheaper. There's a reason for that. The mirror fit perfectly, was easy to install and the in-mirror blinker works great. The problem is the mirror itself is "watery". It's kind of like looking in a carnival mirror. Images are wavy and hard to focus on. Having said that, it is still better than being charged $200+ for replacement.
