ViseeO Tune2Air worked great on Mercedes-Benz GL450
A couple weeks ago I bought a Mercedes-Benz GL450 and I was really exited to take it on a family road trip. After a few days, I was disappointed to find out that Mercedes had omitted one of the most essential entertainment features in modern cars. I'm talking about, of course, Bluetooth streaming. At first I tried to read through the owner's manual to see if I was, perhaps, wrong. But no, the navigation unit of the Mercedes-Benz GL450 does not offer Bluetooth streaming only Bluetooth calls. After researching on the web different ways to add Bluetooth streaming to my car I decided to go with the ViseeO Tune2Air mainly because it had moderately good reviews here on Amazon and the price wasn't terribly bad. So, after a few weeks of having the ViseeO Tune2Air installed on my Mercedes this is what I found out.First, the ViseeO works great on the Mercedes head unit and there are no compatibility or sound issues whatsoever. The sound is very solid with no static or connection issues. I tried the ViseeO with multiple devices, (iphone 7+, ipad air, ipad pro, samsung galaxy s7, samung galaxy note 5) and all of them seem to be completely compatible with the viseeo with no connection issues. After the first pairing process the ViseeO auto connects to same device. Another thing that I also noticed is that there is no need to charge the ViseeO as it gets its power from the car. Just plug it in and forget about it.Okay, so, on to the issues. The most annoying issue that I encountered was that it was a little difficult to do the initial installation. At first I tried to pair it to my iphone 7 but for some reason none of my apps would work including Spotify, pandora, or even apple music. So this is how I was able to pair the ViseeO to my iPhone 7+. After searching through the web I found out that you need to have at least one song on your music collection downloaded on your iphone in order for the ViseeO to recognize your phone. So I just bought a song from itunes and the ViseeO finally recognized my iphone 7+. To do the initial pairing process first you plug in the ViseeO into the port usually located in the glove box, then with the radio off you turn on car to auxiliary mode (power to radio only), you then turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and select Tune2Air, input the passcode 0000, and finally turn on the car and radio and your phone should be paired and recognized by the ViseeO. After this first pairing process, any device previously connected should re-connect automatically. When I was looking at the reviews a few weeks ago I saw that there were a lot of people with Audi vehicles complaining about this device not working for them so I was really skeptical about it. But for everyone else out there who has a Mercedes my guess is that it will probably work great on your car.

Set-up problems RESOLVED - Read here.
READ CAREFULLY if you're having problems getting this to work with the Audi MMI: First, remove the wireless adapter and set it aside. With the vehicle running or key in accessory position, enter the MMI console and *DISABLE* entirely any/all bluetooth connectivity, remove all paired devices, including the custom name of your vehicle if you changed it, and do a complete reset/factory default via controls. (You can add your contacts back in later.) Turn off the car's main head unit by press and hold on power until only the opening screen appears. Remove the key. Next, enter the routine for pairing on your smartphone. I'm using an iPhoneX for reference. Without any power or accessories on, plug in the wireless unit. Turn the ignition to on and verify the blue light is flashing. On your smartphone, scan for available bluetooth devices - the unit will show up as Tune2Air even though the car's bluetooth is disabled. (Remember, this device is its own bluetooth receiver, independent of the built in automobile interface. At this point, DO NOT enable bluetooth on the MMI console. Go to Source on the console and scroll to the bottom of the list. The name you've given your smartphone should appear (remember, the car's bluetooth is still NOT turned on.) Select this option as your source. This next step is important: You must begin playing music or any stored audio signal (streaming works too if you're set up with YouTubeMusic, etc. ) through your smartphone's speakers. When prompted, enter/accept the default pairing code (0 0 0 0). The Tune2Air option should now appear on your smartphone. Press the Tune2Air tab and the output is engaged through your car's system. That simple. The configuration will be stored and automatically connect when you're in range. At this point, you can enable the bluetooth option through the console and add in your phone to actually...you know...make a phone call. I have read about a lot of people becoming very frustrated with the wirless adapter and just returning them. Don't give up so fast - it does require jumping through a few hoops to get everybody to play nice together, but the rock solid performance and sound quality is worth it. My only suggestion would be a software or firmware upgrade to allow more information to transfer to the display. Presently, it varies depending on the where the metadata is stored and sometimes no title appears. Others include title, album, etc. I am VERY satisfied with this device. Wish the instructions out of the box were a little more clear.
