Tillman creates luxurious art, Tumford was a bit mistreated.
We have a “Tuxedo” cat, but his nose is black, so I colored all the noses. A cute and funny book, if you love cats, and or small children. The latter make more funny noises because no cat I know has ever farted, dogs yes. I’ve read the book through a fee times. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed Nancy Tillman’s beautiful and luxurious art “, and other books but I kept struggling with how Tumford was treated. I have a new grandson son for whom I bought the book and on these two pages I can see myself changing the wording. And when the author says “whisper these words in Tum’s ear if you would...”Tumford ... not all attention is good”. I believe the message /font/print would have been better served if the voice/font was then small like a whisper.

Great book. Funny and different from other Tillman books
My 2 year old daughter loves this book and the other Tumford the Terrible book. She laughs out loud at all of the silly things this naughty cat does throughout the book. It's a current favorite and very different from what Nancy usually writes (we have all of those books too), but it's a nice departure. The other books are sweet and have a christian sort of undertone to them, but these are comical and cute. I think it's nice to not have just one type of book for kids. A little variety is good for them.

Adorable Tumford; one upsetting page!
My 2-year daughter loved the first Tumford book, so I recently bought this one, thinking she would love it, as well. In typical Tumford style, he's in his rare funny form making mischief and creating havoc, which my daughter loved....that is, until we got to the page where he is picked up by his nape and tossed out. That page so upset my young daughter that we can't read the book again. Who would have guessed? Maybe my girl is just extra sensitive, but the picture is a bit disturbing to see the cat being dangled in mid-air and tossed out. But the rest of the book is the usual Tumford being his giddily mischievous self and, now that you've been warned about the page, you can always just skip it!

A FIVE STAR CAT STORY!!
I read out loud to my grandchildren. This book, and Tumford the Terrible are not only cute stories but also really wonderful illustrations. A classic with us for certain!

Charming children's book
We have another "Tumford" book, and bought this one based on our love for that one. Both have are written in rhyming verses, and are a pleasure to read out loud. The books have a moral and try to teach kids to behave. In this book, Tumford ruins a party with his attention-craving behavior and is punished (with a time out).I gave the book 4 instead of 5 stars because it is not quite as wonderful as the first one.

Tumford rules!
Tumford looks just like one of our cats so our year old grandson loves the story. He has both Tumford books and they are greatly enjoyed. I would recommend any book by this author.

Tumford it at it again!
Tim ford has been a family favourite in my house for quite sometime. We have put many miles on the board book version and have decided to upgrade to hardcover. Tillman outdoes herself and steps away from her usual writings for this book and I was and will always be pleasantly surprised. My girls love Tummy and all his shenanigans, it also teaches great lessons.

Nancy Tillman for the win!
Never a big reader, but I read my girls anywhere between 3 to 6 books a night. They love anything by Nancy Tillman, her books always poetry and a great read. Awesome collection.
