Great for boys!
I bought this book from a local store not off Amazon. But regardless of where I purchased this book it was a great find for my son. My son is 10 and struggles socially and with trying to balance who God says he is and who the world tries to make him. This book related to him because he plays sports and has issue with teammates and so called friends and everything he is dealing with this book covers and more. He’s not yet a teen but the way the world pushes stuff on our kids a 9/10 year old might as well be a teen cause of all the stuff shoved on them and this book helped him in ways I couldn’t. I read it to him at night and we would have discussions and it helped open up the door to talk about my experiences with growing up similar to his. Definitely think this is worth buying for any young boy.

Your child needs to read this book!
I love this book! The messages shared throughout this book are vital for kids to read. I will be recommending this book for my students and friends children to read! Make sure before recommending that you know the family is Christian or comfortable with quotes from the Bible being shared, as religion is a huge theme throughout this book. There are 40 chapters, or devotionals. Each chapter shares a story that is relatable for children and teenagers. At the end of the chapter there is an athlete quote or story, in which a quote or story from a famous athlete is shared that relates to that chapter. There is also a “Winning Words” which is a quote from the Bible relating to the concept in the chapter. Lastly, there is “Winning Tactics”, which is a space for reflection and real-world application of the chapter.

Appreciate the Authenticity of the Authors
Our family appreciated the authenticity of the Ross family in writing this devotional guide. Both of my Middle School sons enjoyed the daily readings, scriptures, spotlights on famous Christian sports personalities, and especially real life stories from Chris Ross. Lots of belly laughs, inspiration, as well as points to consider when outcomes don't go so well in striving to honor Christ with our life. This book was also encouraging to us as Christian parents to get viewpoints of Mike Ross and his wife Tiffany as they parent their son. This book made for a great daily family reading. I would recommend it for grandparents to enjoy with their grandchildren in passing on the Christian faith as well.

Actionable, inspiring (even for adults who don't love sports!
A Kids Game Plan for Great Choices by Michael and Christopher Ross is a 40 day Devotional for teen athletes. Using famous athletes stories, as well as his own (and friends) experiences, this teen writes an inspiring and actionable devo. The section on relating to friends actually got me thinking of ways to apply those principles in my marriage, and in grown-up friendships as well.If you have a teen who loves sports, this devotional is fun and applicable, as a family Devotional or on their own.📌I received a copy of the book from NetGalley, but all thoughts are my own.
