Great product and price!
Great! I use these constantly and they have help up well to being washed. I hand wash mine and lay them on their side to dry- so that the water doesn't get in deeper than it needs to go. I also used the suggestion on the package to store them in a cup filled with coarse salt. I think this is helping them stay drier because they have already out lived my last set. No issues with bristles shedding or anything else.

Great product for what you pay.
The family needed a cheap set of basting brushes for various use around the kitchen and these fit the bill perfectly. At only a few dollars for the set, you get exactly what you would expect for quality, but they are able to do just what you need them to.We had some issues with shedding hairs and a little bit of rust around the bracket that holds the hairs to the handle. After the first few uses and washes a majority of the loose hairs are gone and you no longer have to worry about picking bits out of your food as you make it. I recommend to hand wash them to prevent rusting, or just throw them in the dish washer with no second thought due to the low price. The bristles are stiff enough to make application perfect with enough give that you don't end up scraping everything off. The larger of the two absorbs enough liquids for brushing, the smaller one makes due.For around $4, these are exactly what you would expect.

Perfect for baking my croissants.
I was using a silicone brush for my croissants but I could not feel quite happy about the thickness of it. When putting my eggs on top of the croissants before baking them, the result would never be up to my quality threshold.I decided to go back to the classing paint brush type and I have to report my full satisfaction. The may require more maintenance and be a bit harder to clean but it is extremely worth it.

They do their job, but they're not the greatest quality.
These brushes work and are a good price, but they shed their bristles so much in the begininv. If you follow the instructions regarding putting them in a dish of salt after washing them, they still end up rusting around the metal clamp that holds the bristles in, leaving rust on the wood and top of the bristles.

Good brushes
These brushes are excellent for brushing on melted butter, egg white, etc. when baking. The brushes are firm enough to hold the liquid but soft enough so that they don't bruise the pastry being basted. I also use the larger brush for basting poultry, meat, fish, etc. The quality, so far, seems very good as the bristles have not fallen out (which happened with a very inexpensive brush). I'm very satisfied with my purchse.

Good Cook Classic Set of 2 Pastry / Basting...
I bought these to baste bbq sauce on chicken in the oven and they work great. I like that they clean up well and don't leave sauce in between the bristles. I used warm soapy water and swished them in a bowl then ran under the tap for a min and they were clean. These will work great brushing butter on pastry layers as well. I will buy more in the future when needed.

wierd, inconsistent paint brushes
The brushes came and they looked like the edges had been mashed up. They function. but I wonder why I didn't go down to Home Depot and buy some cheap brushes instead? Also, man, they are sloooooow to dry out

I Use These When Baking
For years I've used basting brushes with natural bristles, always becoming annoyed when the bristles fall out after extended use. So I tried a silicone pastry brush, but it doesn't hold liquid very well, necessary when brushing the tops of pies, bread or rolls with milk, melted butter or egg before baking. I like the fact that this package contained two sizes (1" and 1.5"), and the price was reasonable. Hand wash and gently dry after each use.

Used for painting
I needed a brush for painting grasses in watercolour, and this is the perfect brush for the job. The bristles aren't all lined up and are nice and chaotic for a great effect. For cooking, I'd rate it way lower, but for my use in painting it's perfect!

Natural Bristles
I prefer natural bristles to synthetic. Just received them and am pleased with how they are made and their looks. Delivery was fast. However, I have yet to use them. Will add to my comments when I have.
