Beautiful Cuts of Wood
Very nice walnut. I was worried I might get some subpar knotted junk order Ing on line , I usually prefer to go to Rockler or Woodcraft to pick my lumber, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Pleased with the quality
I have received my second order from Barrington Hardwoods and they were both well above average quality. Walnut lumber is crazy expensive overall, but the cost per bd/ft here was better than competitors. I am expanding my kitchen which is walnut cabinetry so this is being used for the new drawer fronts and all the interface transitions. I used walnut veneer on the new large surfaces, and the end result is quite stunning. I prefer quarter sawn stock (straight grain lines) with minimal and balanced sapwood (sapwood can be awkwardly lighter in color) but the lumber I received was a nice usable compromise of cuts. The dimensions were accurate (maybe 1/32 shy on width but normal). No waste because of defects or twisting. Shipping was immediate on both orders so they arrived earlier than expected. No promotions here, just a recently retired guy who hates to get screwed by dishonest vendors. This one appears legit.

High quality product
I was a little leery of buying hardwood like this online but both boards were packaged well and had zero splits, dents or defects. Would definitely buy again.

Absolutely gorgeous wood!
I purchased these boards specifically to make business signs for the company my husband works for. I wasn't expecting them to be so perfect. These boards are absolutely beautiful! The wood has a rich color and flawless surface. Perfect for burning on. I used a wood burner tool and burned the address of the business into one of the boards and the word "Office" into the other board. The charred numbering and lettering looks so amazing on this beautiful wood. I definitely wasn't expecting that. The wood actually shipped and arrived earlier than was quoted and every question or concern I had for this seller was answered and assured by this seller. They have quality products, absolutely gorgeous wood and a great hospitality for their customers. I give them 10 stars if I could! Definitely recommend ordering from them instead of the cheaper guys. You'll be able to see the difference in the quality of the woods. I have nothing but excellent things to say about these guys!! Amazing!

Quality commensurate with cost
I'm an amateur woodworker. I wish I could afford to make things entirely out of beautiful hardwoods but walnut, in particular, is expensive. I use a router kit to edge-band (modified tongue and groove) veneered plywood with strips of walnut ranging from less than an inch to a few inches. There is no walnut veneered plywood to my knowledge, but using a walnut edge on maple, oak, polar or birch provides a nice contrast. Using thin strips for edges, you can get a lot of mileage out of a couple of 4 foot boards. Always use a table saw to rip the routed strip from a larger piece, it is dangerous to use a router to tongue or groove thin strips. The quality of this walnut is commensurate with the cost.
