Higuchi JC 5009 - 5 Watt Bi-Pin Halogen Light Bulb, G4 Base, 12 Volts

Don't get my 4 stars wrong. The bulbs are perfect 5 watt bulbs i guess. Got 2 of them and now can see whats baking in the oven but wish they were brighter. That is a problem with the oven's specs not the bulbs. I'm normally comfortable with hacking and tweeking and should probably have tried 10 or 18 watt bulb but didn't have the time to research whether I could have shirked the specs and used a different wattage. Remember, don't touch these with your bare fingers when installing. Use a towel or rubber gloves. Oils from your fingers will cause the bulb to burn out. You can clean them but that is usually difficult after they are installed due to the tight spaces they usually get jammed into.

I bought this for my biOrb fish tank, I have to order online because 5w are not carried in stores. I leave the light on during the day to heat the tank then turn it off at night. Previous bulbs have lasted so long I could not remember putting the them, the first bulb I put in lasted over a year. This lasted barely a month, if that. I only ordered one because this type of light typically lasts a while, so now I am hoping my fish survive until the new ones I bought from a different company arrive.It did, however, ship and arrive early, which I was pleased with.

I was happy to find this item and it arrived packaged well and it is exactly what I ordered, but it didn't work. Since I bought two of them, I tried them both and neither of them worked. What are the chances? I think it is the switch on my oven that's the problem, not the bulbs.

Bought two, one of them broke immediately upon attempted installation (the metal pin broke through the glass under very little pressure). For the price, can't really complain. Nice to have a light in my microwave again!

I've ordered 3. They are all broken. One broke when my husband was installing it. The other 2 have already burned out. He wore latex gloves so as not to get any oil on the bulbs. They only lasted 2 weeks each.

I ordered 4 of these lights. Have two ovens in different locations,Needed two lights for one of the ovens, and wanted a spare for each location.Of the three I have tried, one didn't work. Last light is at other location and haven't tried it yet.

I was so pleased to find a bulb replacement for my night light/glass ball holder. Bummed out when it didn't last six months. So bummed that I just tossed out the night light. While not in the instructions, the oils from your fingers will cause halogen bulbs - so don't touch them with bare hands...which I didn't.

None of the local big box homes stores carried this bulb and most of the sites online wanted to sale you a package of 10 (or more). When I came across this product I couldn't believe the price and the fact that they would let you buy as few as one bulb. I guess there were a lot of other customers who came to the same conclusion becuase we had to wait awhile for them to ship.
