Rose Breasted Grosbeak
I bought this coloring book because my favorite bird is a rose breasted grosbeak and it is included in the book. Very detailed and fun to color (well, it will be once I’m ready to not mess up coloring the grosbeak)

Thoughtful gift and beautiful prints
Each page is so unique, beautiful environments with fun-to-colour flora surround the birds. Flipping through before giving it as a gift convinced me I wanted it for my own as well. Prints are all solid and look great. If you have a bird-lover in your life or just someone who likes to colour I definitely recommend.

Good bird pictures.
No small color pictures, will have to look up colors for all but 2 birds. Nice pictures for older children and adults.

Beautiful pictures ! ! !
The coloring pages are Perfect ! for what I needed. Making a quilt for a little girl, around 2 yrs. old. She wanted Wild Baby Animals and some have trees, some bushes, tall grass and mountains. Several had only a momma and her cub (fox is one). I felt they needed to have something to make it look better. Am adding birds, butterflies, trees with fruit and flowers. One of the books, birds arrived yesterday ( Sepr 28). The other today. It is a pocketbook so the butterflies are smaller.I have over 60 pages, narrowed it down of 40 of wild animals with their young. Hard to pick out the ones I want LOL. Need only 24 plus 6 for a large pillow. Can't wait to use carbon paper to put on the material and then use a special "pin" to trace the coloring pages and then paint them! The quilts are a gift and so no copyright problems in that area. Five to make. A lot of work, but looking forward to making them. Unicorn, and two want sports and great-grandson wants dinosaurs. Wish me Luck. ! ! !.Highly recommend these too books, one a pocketbook with butterflies. Other has an image of a Oriole sitting in a tree that has peaches. The other little girl, who wants unicorns, I will Have two Unicorns with horns and two Pegasus's have wings but no horn. Many people get them nixed up.

Great for school
My seven year old and I are learning about local bird species as part of a homeschooling project. I ordered two, one for each of us. She and I both enjoy accurately coloring them to learn thier field marks. Only a few of the birds in the coloring book can not be found in her Birds of Kentucky Field Guide. The illustrations are accurate to life and look like natural poses. And the price is great. I'll continue buying Dover coloring books for both of us.Note: The pages, although not thin, are printed on both sides and would not be great for markers or paints.

Pretty birds and educational.
The pictures are very nice and every picture has the name of each bird, so you could look up the bird and color it the true color. The only thing I don't like is that there's a picture on both sides of the paper and if I use different markers it ruins the other side and also I like to frame and hang some of my pictures and it's not possible with pictures on both sides. I think I will buy another book at the good price it's not a problem.

Good for learning birds but not as great for art
This coloring book is great for learning details about birds. It's realistic and contains the name and location of each bird at the bottom. However, the drawings are printed on both sides of the book, so they either have to be copied onto another paper or only colored with pencils, as markers bleed through and ruin the design on the other side. I also found that often there were two designs on a page or a fairly simple background that didn't fill the whole page, so they aren't ideal for doing fancier artwork that could be hung on a wall.
