Mobile 3.5 mm Audio Cable Extension (male to female) - Otterbox Card Reader Compatible

When I first got this for my Square and iPhone, I kept getting messages that "reader is attached" and then right away "reader not available" - back and forth, over and over. I made sure the cable was plugged tightly into my iPhone, but it kept happening so I thought of some of the negative reviews. THEN for some silly reason I decided to just push the Square HARD into the other end, and guess what? There was a loud SNAP, it seated properly, and now I have a perfectly functioning Square - all the time! The only down side is that I have to find someplace to set the phone down to hold onto the Square and slide the card through, but hey, it works and I get my sale. If it stops working for some reason, I'll update my review ... but so far it works like a champ.**UPDATE** After only a few uses, when I went to remove the cable from my iPhone, the rubber covering over the male connector (plug) slipped right off and the wiring inside just broke off. I figured, since I'd had this awhile, I was just out of luck. Still, I shot off a note to Amazon, who contacted the seller for me ... and I've got to hand it to them, this is 5-star customer service. Not only did they not give me the runaround, after hearing what had happened, they immediately asked if I wanted a refund or a replacement! I took the replacement as I like the product. Now I have to say I LOVE the vendor!! (the replacement also came very quickly). Thanks, SciFi4u!

This product did not work for my iPhone 6 with the case and the Intuit scanner. It wasn't even the right color or adapter as seen in the picture. I am going to use for something else, as returns are a hassle. I would not buy if you are expecting this to work for an extension for a credit card reader!!!

Doesn't work -- period. When I go back and read the reviews -- it seems this cable extension either works or it doesn't. Mine didn't work at all and I tried it with my IPhone6 and the IPad. My PayPal reader works absolutely fine without the extension. I wanted this extension to use with my Iphone6 and Otterbox case. Since the company doesn't issue refunds -- I'll request a replacement. If that doesn't work -- what a complete waste of $ with no ability to get my money back. Buyer beware -- assume you're taking a gamble whether it will work or not.

The adapter is not long enough to fit through my LifeProof Phone Case. I am returning it. It does look like it is well made and I am sure that it will probably work through other brands of phone cases.

When I received my credit card swiper for my cell phone, I was excited. Lower APR's for swiped rates, faster processing, less paperwork, and, of course, a new whiz-bang toy for my phone.But I faced a problem. I have an otterbox defender on my phone. The swiper wouldn't fit into the phone because the casing prevents the swiper from going in all the way. What to do? Well, I immediately thought, "there has to be some kind of gadget that extends this phone jack thingy deal." I googled it, and found this listing. Quickly bought it, and had it QUICKLY (seller has fast shipping).Problem solved. This little attachment allows me to attach the swiper whenever I need to process a transaction, and once you get used to using it, transactions are a breeze. If you have a $600 iphone, you're going to have a protective casing on it (well, I am, anyway). This little device lets you use a credit card swiper without removing the casing.

Not sure if it is my reader or the cord, but I got through registration. When it worked, I loved it because it was not a very long cable. When it didn't, had to take the case off the iPad and use just the reader. Sometimes that didn't even work, so I am leaning to a reader problem then the actual cord. It is thin, so take care in unplugging it, but should last.

When I bought my new iPhone 5s and new Otterbox, I was frustrated to discover that the plug from my Square card reader could no longer fit into the phone, because it was blocked by the narrow Otterbox opening. After hunting around fruitlessly (neither Square nor Otterbox help desks could offer a solution), I found - through Google - a reference to CellPay. Ordered it, and voila - problem solved! Just be sure that the cable is completely plugged in - may take a little extra push. And it actually makes it a little easier to use the card reader.

This actually didn't work for my square reader at all, I got it based on the reviews. It isn't faulty, just not compatible like all the reviews claimed.
