Bilateral knee replacement is a big deal. This cold therapy makes it less of a big deal. Comforting relief. Swelling reduced. No ice mess with the water bottles.Tip: The hoses canseem a bit unruly. They aren’t if you practice before surgery and figure out the best position.Tip: works best if on a end table or nightstand that is the same height as your bed/chair. Drape the hoses over the walkerand bring the pads over your feet and up on your knees. Makes it simple to cover feet/ ankles that you don’t want cold, while having a lighter weight covering on your knees to reap the benefit.Tip: much easier to use after surgery if you roll and tape every piece of Velcro. The bulk from the Velcro acts as a weight and allows you to lay the pads directly on your knee(s). When you are in pain, you don’t want attachment hassles. Just set the remote and you’re feeling better.Tip: if one or both pads isn’t cold, just disconnect the connectors to let the air bubble out of the hose. Then reconnect the hose. Wife’s Knee replacement and this machine has been a Gem, last about 5-6 hours with 6 water bottles, programmable timer, all works like it should. If you want colder temperatures go with a larger block of ice, I used 2 Blue Bunny ice cream containers and had very cold water.

I was hesitant to buy this due to the high price, but it was worth it. I previously iced my knees using separate ice packs, but this machine with two knee therapy pads makes it so much easier. I started out filling the reservoir with water and ice, but later decided to follow the manufacturer's recommendation of using frozen water bottles (6-16.9 oz bottles for my 9 quart cooler) instead of ice. I simply wipe off the bottles and refreeze them when I'm done, ready for another session the next morning. No more wasted water/ice. And, the timer feature makes for hands-off therapy sessions. Just be sure to allow the system to run a bit before securing the therapy pads, to ensure good flow through the system. I did have an issue with the digital timer unit being faulty (part of the characters didn't light up), but the manufacturer quickly sent me a replacement. I messaged them on a Thursday, they replied the next day, and I received the replacement the following Monday. Loving this machine, and appreciate the customer service.

This is my 2nd cryo unit in 20+ years. Loved my first unit, couldn’t find the same replacement so chose this expensive unit. It works. Would rate a 3 for simply working and the pros would make it a 5, but the cons have me fighting not to rate it a zero. Pros: has y splitter, programmable cycling. Cons: quick connects are cheap and difficult to attach, slightly leaky. Pads do not drain without a drain accessory (not included and costs $26.50-rip off due to the cheap quick connects) on top of this being a more expensive unit. It’s a cooler with a fish pump. My old unit had excellent quick connects, and pads drained by gravity. The quick connects need improvement and the drain attachment needs to be included or eliminated by using better quick connects.
