The book is great, the problem is Amazon's reading application, it is horrible.

DO NOT BUY
I just took the LEED AP exam this morning, and I'll stress again what another reviewer has already mentioned, that clearly this book was not edited at all. The quiz keys in the back of the book don't match up with the questions. For example, the answer key will say that for question 3.4, the answer is choice C and will give an explanation as to why. However, the explanation will be entirely unrelated to the question, and the 'clarification' won't make sense. It's almost like someone filed the questions and answers out of order, which is really detrimental for studying. Did the author just forget to have this edited?? I'm just floored that there are such serious and glaring errors in an exam prep book. There are also some questionable discrepancies in the information from the O&M Reference guide published by USGBC, such as water baseline calculations. This book states that the baseline should be based on fixtures installed after 1993, using 120% and 160% reductions from baseline depending on installation date. The USGBC Reference Guide uses 1995 as the reference year, and reductions of 120% and 150%. It makes me seriously question what else is incorrect in this study guide. The most useful part of this book is the inclusion of study worksheets, which are one worksheet per credit, and appendixes that detail the synergies and references per credit. HOWEVER - they are not specific enough to help you pass the exam.Do not buy this book, if it's the only thing you use you will not pass the exam. Save your money. The only helpful study guides I found out there were with GBES, it's more money and predominantly online but their practice tests actually represented what I saw on the real exam. And I'm not being paid by GBES so not trying to plug a product.

Invaluable Exam Resource
When used in conjunction with Reference Guide, this Exam Guide are invaluable to me for exam preparation. The study work sheet are well written, and although a couple of typos are present, the meaning is obvious, and doesn't outweigh what makes this a 5 star book. With various types...check all that apply, fill in the blank, best answer, etc. The answer key helpfully describes why the correct answer is correct, and why the incorrect answers are not. At the same cost of other LEED exam guides, this is a must buy if you want to pass O+M exam the first time you take it.

Excellent for self prep
I used this guide and only this guide to prepare for the exam and felt very well prepared. It is essentially written for the test so one would expect it would focus on the exam's material and nothing else. Perhaps that's the book's only weakness. If you're unfamiliar with some of the concepts this book isn't meant to elucidate on them.

Mediocre review book, lots of typos, clearly a rush job
As a student preparing to take the LEED AP with a lot of experience working with green buildings, I was actually excited to start studying. This book let me down in a big way!The book is loaded with typos and formatting issues. For example, there are many multiple choice questions where the question is on one page, and the answers are on the next. Or the question and 3 or 4 answers are on one page, and a single lone answer choice moves to the next page. There are many typos, some of them damaging to a student. The book has mixed up the word picogram (1 trillionth of a gram) with pictogram (a writing style based on written symbols). I can't stress this enough: in every place where picogram is the appropriate word, the book uses pictogram. One look at the LEED reference guide (or, one pass by an editor) would have caught this mistake. From a learning standpoint, the book is decent. The information is presented in a logical way, though it is presented in a text heavy manner. The author tries to mix up where information is presented to the student, including sometimes having new information in the quiz sections at the end of chapters. However, the answer keys throughout the book are inadequate, and often do not do anything to explain the concepts tested in the questions.Overall, a very mediocre book. I would be happy if I had paid 10 dollars or less for this. It's a pretty blatant rush job.

Good supplement
Thismbook was very helpful in providing a supplement to my online training in preparation for the LEED AP O+M to which I passed the first time.

Excellent study guide
Put out by academic publishers John Wiley & Sons, this study guide is very useful and formatted like other study guides you might've used in college. LEED and environmentally-conscious architectural design is rapidly becoming an important factor in the industry as more and more buildings go green. Many new constructions in New York, for example, are LEED certified (for various reasons like marketing and government incentives). Each chapter begins with core concepts and ends with a Quiz Time! section to test your knowledge. At the very end of the book is a chapter of flash cards you can cut out and put in your pocket. Most of them are business-card sized, but some are half that size or double the height, making them hard to stack together. They would be better if they were all uniform sized.Another minor flaw is that all the photos and diagrams are in black and white.Chapters List:Chapter 1 Understanding The Credentialing ProcessChapter 2 Sustainability And Leed Basics ReviewChapter 3 The Leed For Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance Rating SystemChapter 4 Sustainable SitesChapter 5 Water EfficiencyChapter 6 Energy And AtmosphereChapter 7 Materials And ResourcesChapter 8 Indoor Environmental QualityChapter 9 Innovation In Operations And Regional PriorityChapter 10 Study Tips
