Civet Home Bookshelf, Honey

Before ordering this product, I knew that I wanted a pair of bookshelves that were decently priced and easy to assemble.I ordered two of these Civet Home Bookshelves and I am pleased with how they look! They were delivered via UPS,and the manufacturer made sure that they were safely and securely packaged.There were no missing parts and each bookshelf came with a one-page, two-sided set of instructions. On one side,there are written instructions for requesting missing parts (if applicable). That same side also indicates the partsthat are included for proper assembly of the bookshelf. The other side indicates diagrams of the various parts,with each part being labelled with letters and arrows for assembly. It was a little bothersome to discover thatthe two different sides were positioned upside-down on the page (but not a major deterrent from assemblingthe bookshelf).The bookshelf was made in Thailand and all of its wooden parts have a beautiful honey color with a nicegleam. The wooden plugs, the screws, and the allen key were all enclosed in a small plastic bag that wassecured by folding over the top and stapling it. The dowels and the shelves were wrapped in paper, securedwith plastic straps, and the corners of the shelves were protected by styrofoam. The entire package wasboxed and safely secured with lots of clear tape. The package is a little heavy, but not burdensome.It is better to have two persons on hand to assemble this bookshelf. One person can hold a side panel inplace while the other person aligns the screws with the dowels and shelves (and repeating this processfor the other side panel). The trickiest part is putting on the top shelf because it is harder to align theplacement of the screws. Total assembly time without using electronic tools was about 30-45 minutes tops.The wood did not have an off smell and no parts were chipped, broken, or otherwise defective. Onceassembled, it was very easy to move the bookshelf to where we wanted it.Having two of them side-by-side looks attractive in the hallway. I would recommend this bookshelf.The pair of bookshelves look great in our apartment (good height, nice storage, wonderful furniture)!!

All my nursing books were held by this bookshelf and the shelves never bent with time, nor nothing! One of the best buys I've made. Highly recommend!!!

This bookcase took 10-15 minutes to unbox and sort, and 20-25 minutes to assemble. Your own tools aren't needed (hex wrench is included) (a hammer and small board or towel are helpful for tapping in the end caps; insert an end cap, cover with board or towel, and tap with hammer to firmly set). The bookcase is solid wood, so it is sturdy and has some heft to it. It should hold just about anything that fits (except maybe your free weights!). The finish is applied nicely and evenly. This bookcase makes an attractive addition to my home.

Assembly was mostly painless; one of the pieces didn't line up quite right, but it didn't pose too much of an issue. Build quality seems pretty solid, and it looks reasonably nice as a small bookshelf in our bedroom. Nicer than a cheapo black bookshelf, anyway.

My son put the shelves together for me. When I saw the finished product I was surprised at how sturdy it was. The quality was better than I thought. I wish I had ordered a taller one. Over all I am very happy with the product.

Top shelf came with a split in it. Did not see it until we put it together. How do we handle this?It’s very attractive and was easy to assemble.

A good bookshelf. Very sturdy. Had to file out some of the screw holes to attach the very top but that wasn’t a big deal.

Just love this bookcase! Just ordered another one! Looks expensive. I have all books on this and it is holding strong! Easy to assemble.
