fi-6670 Professional Color Duplex Document Scanner

This item has saved our company hours and hours. We upgraded to this scanner from a smaller one, and the difference is like night and day. After installation (very easy), I ran a few test scans. It went so fast, literally thought it wasn't working. We scan roughly 4,000 per day, although this scanner is built to handle 15,000 per day. Easy to set up, easy to use, fairly small so doesn't take up a lot of room, and had I known about this earlier, it would have been purchased years ago. If you do a lot of scanning, tired of standing there feeding paper and taking time to babysit it, get this and you will be amazed and pleased with its performance. The scanner arrived in great shape and has been a real workhorse for backfile scanning.

Mine has a bug that causes automatic page size to fail if the black point is pulled up past 40. It's most troublesome on grayscale paper because you have to pull up the black point to map the darks down to where they need to be. Otherwise your scan looks dull and lacking in contrast. There should be a firmware update for this, but Fujitsu plays it close to the vest and wants a technician visit to plug in new firmware. I've gone back to my fi-5650C which doesn't have that problem. In addition, the newer fi-6670 is unable to scan long single pieces of paper, even though the predecessor did fine with it. Supposedly they tightened up the dust leaks into the optical engines, but they still get foggy and need cleaning (which is not in the service manual). Oh, by the way, you can't get a service manual either, except through extraordinary rendition.
