Politics for Beginners [Hardcover] NILL Hardcover – February 8, 2018

Great book for children who are first learning about government and politics. I’m using it for my 12 and 14 year old, and it’s easy to understand and wonderful pics to go along with it. We are learning so much!

Love the layout! Very digestible for my 11 year old

I bought this for my 10 year old and he found it to be a very easy read and very interesting. The content was well organized and the illustration was perfect for his age group.

I am an amazon customer for 10+ years. I have never posted a review before. This book and other similar ones by USBORNE go above and beyond customer expectation. Very hard and lengthy concepts have been explained in a very digestable manner in pictorial format. I am amazed and so grateful that there are kid books on adult topics like money, politics, business etc. A must have for parents looking to make their children aware beings.

The book was very fun and full of information, but there are somethings I did not agree with and frankly are not correct. A couple are like on p. 25 where Ben Franklin says that SCIENCE has proved that men are created equal. (How did they prove that? I thought Darwin said quite the opposite...Actually God created us equal and science didn't create anything.) Also on p. 64 it said that voting ID requirements makes it hard for people to vote. Uh...if the government can hand out checks to people, they can send every person who is legally in this country an ID AND although they don't want to have IDs necessary or voting, it would make sure citizens were voting and not illegals, out of state voters or dead people. Also, how many other things in life need IDs displayed, like alcohol? I think if someone really wanted an ID, they would find a way. Obviously there is a left slant in this book, so whatever you believe, read WITH your children even though it looks like a fun book. :)

I bought this for my daughter but ended up really enjoying it myself! It's been a long time since my high school government class, so this is a good review of how political systems work.
