RAM Mounts (RAP-390-RB-NBU Tube Jr. Fishing Rod Holder with Ram-Rod Revolution Ratchet/Socket System (Base Not Included)

I have a Hobie Pro Angler kayak and primarily fish the saltwater flats of south east florida. I typically encounter redfish, speckled sea trout, crevalle jacks, barracuda, and mangrove snappers. I didn't need or want the additional security of a traditional rod holder which use the locking clips so I started out with the Ram Tube 2008 product and loved the convenience of being able to quickly put in the rod and quickly take out; the caveat though was the length of the tube which can be cumbersome when seated in a kayak. I went shopping on Amazon and came across this product, Ram Mount Tube Jr.It has all the convenience of the tube holder style, but with a much shorter tube making it more convenient for use on my kayak. The product has an open bottom and cut out on the side to allow the reel seat to slide into the middle of the tube to give it a secure fit. This is great for me as I have specialized inshore rods with short butts similar to Bass rods; TFO Gary Loomis Signature Series. The normal tube style worked but this product lets more rod into the tube because the reel seat slides into the middle of the tube which is a big plus for rods with short butts. The product has a racketing system that when combined with the flexibility of the Ram mount provides great flexibility when setting up the ideal mounting position and angle.I'm not sure how secure it would be for offshore fishing where you might encounter a 40lb black tuna since there are no locking clips; however I've used the product on several inshore trips and loved it so much I bought a second one for the left gunwale. I highly recommend this product for anyone inshore kayak fishing.

good adjustability. i use it with spinning reels of small freshwater size and they fit great. the rod tube portion locks in at different settings (each one approx. 10-15degrees of rotation from the next). great product, just like everything RAM makes.the only downside (if it applies to your situation) is that the rod holder has the rod mounted about 10" away from the mount, and if you have the holder attached to a weak mount, make sure your drag is loose or when you snag, it will apply a fair amount of leverage to the mount, and could be enough to perhaps damage a thin kayak or something.

Ich habe so ziemlich einige Hersteller ausprobiert und kenne keinen besseren. Nur schade, dass man hierzulande Probleme hat, die ganze Produktpalette von Ram Mount zu bekommen. Ich kann diese Teile nur weiterempfehlen.

Ottimo portacanne versatile per tutti i tutti i tipi di canne, ottimo anche per il kayak con i relativi adattatori.
