OK once assembled but beware
OK once assembled but beware. First, the finished model has the right shapes and looks to be in scale and reasonably good detail. I got this for my 7 yr old for Christmas. Our package was missing the two parts that hold the main landing gear in place....good thing it came with a stand. Crisis averted and I will be contacting Testors about the missing parts, most model companies will send replacements if you ask. All that said, the assembly was very difficult for a young child and he could not do much of it by himself. The metal pins holding the fuselage halves together were very tight and I pushed them home with the flat side of the screwdriver handle. He also could not get the halves squeezed together enough so I had to help with that too. The wing took some persuasion to sit into place. The tab on the stand had to be filed on the edge to fit into the mount on the plane. He's happy with his finished model and now he has a plane for his room. I've seen better engineered starter models.

Kids will need grown-up help.
I helped my grandson put this together. The directions were not very clear, but we managed. He was happy with it. It is pretty fragile, though. Should be used as a display or collectable, not as a toy.

Garbage
Got this for my six year old son for Christmas, thinking it would be a good way to get him into the hobby (box says Skill 1, right?). I should've trusted my instincts when I saw the screwdriver. Nearly every piece in here is a very difficult fit. I ended up having to build nearly the whole thing which defeated the purpose, and on top of that it was missing the canopy. I could probably contact Testors for a replacement piece but it's such a piece of junk it's really not worth it.

Not the Testor's quality I remember.
It's been a long time since I built a model, but figured this would be a good refresher for me and a good starter for my 7 year old. Wow. It fit together so poorly I had to build it it for him, with the help of an exact-o and a drill bit to clean out the holes for the guide pins. I also had to trim the landing gear doors, and glue the tail in place.Hopefully the Revell kit we also picked up goes together better....
