ProForm Smart Strider 735 Elliptical Trainer

Bought this machine because the treadmill just wasn't cutting it for me anymore. This elliptical is great addition to my little home gym! The various programs as got me sweating way more than the treadmill ever did. I don't use the iFit on it but it is a possibility in the future. Just with the built in settings, I am able to get a great workout and with different variety. I really like that there seems to be a stabilizer of sorts that make the machine work better on carpet. I've had a different elliptical from Golds Gum I. The past and it was really bad on the carpet. It made me not want to even use it cause it moved around so much. With this machine, I don't have that issue. I've had this for about 5 months and use it 4-5 a week and haven't had any issues. The reaistance and incline settings are really nice and you can feel that they are working different muscles with the different settings.A really great workout machine and would recommend to anyone looking to get in shape.

 The Proform 735 Elliptical is great as advertised, and I am very pleased with my purchase. The setup was easy approx 6 bolts to install. The Proform 735 Elliptical has a smooth operation. However the shipping is very hard on this item, especially due to the poor packaging and the Proform 735 Elliptical having plenty of plastic-and in my case damaged in several locations. Its not a good feeling opening up the box and several broken plastic pieces fall out of the box. Finally, during my first work out there was this annoying loud clicking noise coming from the handle area. I later found out it was related to the "up right knob." I had to back off the "up right -knob" a quarter turn to eliminate the loud annoying clicking noise. It appears that is a design flaw within that area.

First, I did get a thin, foldable, mat to put under it. I have wood floors and HIGHLY recommend this practice. It's especially important to me because I live an an apartment building with neighbors below me. The mat helps dampen the noise of the movement of the elliptical.Second, yes, there was a little bit of a squeak in the wheel area for the first couple of times I used the machine. However, that stopped and I haven't heard anything like it since.I DO wish the iFit programs were less expensive. I wish there had been one complimentary one I got with it to give me a taste of what the programs were like. Not knowing exactly how they are prevents me from experimenting on an expensive one.The movement is smooth and it holds its' incline adjustment. Also, I was on the lookout for it to need ever-increasing tension adjustment and that hasn't happened. It holds its' tension, even after many uses. I think I've used it over 30 times, for about an hour each time.The foot pads are adjustable, but not enough to make me really happy: I'd rather my toes not point down at all during the movement cycle. Feels better for my knees when my toes don't point down. I also wish they had just a little more "give" in them.The fan is GREAT! Makes a big difference for me.Overall, this has been a great purchase for me: the ability to fold it up in my apartment is a substantial benefit to me. I will say, though, this thing is *heavy!* Lift from your legs when pushing it up and lowering it down. I'm 5'2" and I can do it fine, but I must be conscious of my movements to be safe lifting it.

I've only had it for a couple weeks but it's perfect for what I need. I'm 5'9" and it's a good ergonomic fit for me. I really like the different exercise options. Seems well built but I'll update if any of the things that other users experienced occurs.It shipped without any issues but it's heavy as all get out (263lb). I had to get help from a friend to drag the box to the room I wanted it in. Don't bother to pay for setup since you can do it yourself. They recommend two people but I managed to do it myself in about 40 minutes. It literally unfolds from the box, you switch out the shipping stabilizers for the real feet and add screws to the arm and that's it and it's ready to go.Excuse the mess in the pics, I put it in my spare room that I never clean.

Device ok, but support horrible. Device starting making a kind of squeaking noises within first few uses. Call customer support, had to go through a very long and complex process to get to speak with a human being. Then they wanted to for ME to do diagnostic and repairs over the phone (Make sure to have time and your tools ready before you call support).

This is a wonderful elliptical for the budget minded person. Having said that, I am CONSTANTLY having to spray WD-40 on various parts to keep them from making knocking/squeaking noises every step I take. When the machine isnt making these noises its almost silent and thankfully doesnt wake my husband. It is sturdy, shipped quickly and easy to put together

Love, love, love, this elliptical !!! It is great quality.and easy to use. Has alot of programs I have yet to discover. Looking forward to that. I can hook up my iPad to it also.Received it yesterday and had it assembled by Brian Mancuso. Great person, fast, efficient !!He had it out of the box and put together in 30 minutes. And he was nice

We're on our 2nd unit. The first one was cosmetically very damaged. However, this one isn't working properly.HUGE difference in resistance between the two machines. The first one I set to 15 (out of 30);. this one I can barely use when set to 4!The instructions warn to mostly use the forward motion (disappointing) but that backward motion is okay too. When moving backwards, something rubs against the flywheel with every rotation--cannot be a good thing. I will probably exchange again.How many times will I have to replace the machine before I get one that both looks whole and functions?I will update when I get a functional model.
