How did I ever live without these?
I have been doing drywall on the side and at home for years and often spent too long getting uneven walls flat with joint compound. I was remodeling my bathroom and wanted to get the walls as flat as possible without a lot of work, so I searched for a solution and found these. I was able to shim the studs out perfectly to account for variations and also to sink the screw areas for easier finishing. Worked perfectly! I also found these work great as spacers and shims for many other projects such as tile setting, aligning things before installation, etc. We will order another box to keep around the house for sure.

Immediate availability, needed for job
No one locally stocks these shims, so I am glad Amazon has them when I need them. Real time savers if you have uneven walls, and are prepping to hang drywall.

Did the trick
Thin, easy to use. I only had to do a small bathroom renovation so I have enough left over to do the whole house! Wish they had a smaller quantity pack.

Great for shimming concave studs
I used these to compensate for the extremely concave studs i used to frame my basement. They are great. They are 1/16 inch and you can use a maximum of about 3 or 4. Attach with a staple gun. I didn’t think I’d need very many but ended up using the whole box.

easy to use
Much better than trying to use uneven wood shims. Very easy to cut into needed sizes.

Surprising variety of uses
Although advertised as drywall shims, I found many other uses for them. Some particularly useful qualities: (1) unlike wood shims, they can rub against a finished surface with little risk of scratching; (2) their thickness is consistently pretty close to 1/16", so they can be used for fine-tuning other shims; (3) the prehung doors I buy are meant to have a 1/8" gap between the door slab and the jamb, so I can stack two of these to preserve that gap size during installation; (4) their long edges are straight enough to be used as a straigtedge in some situations.

many uses beyond drywall
I use these things for many spacing and shimming needs. They can be split in half for 1/32" or easily torn such that you get a tapered shim, very handy and fast, or stack them for multiples of 1/16". First and foremost though, they're great for quick flattening of stud and joist surfaces prior to drywalling.

Works Great!
These shims are a game changer. If you do the work up front with these shims, you will save yourself from using more mud and sanding forever.
