I bought this for my toddler at the time, who kept getting up early around 5 A.M. The colors let her know when she could actually leave the room to enter our room. For example, we could set the clock to flash green (any color really) around 6 A.M. and she know it's time to leave the room. However; the flashing of colors only lasts about 15 minutes or so, so if she missed it by sleeping past 6:15, then she would stay in her room for a longer time waiting patiently for it to flash. It had some noises to help her go to sleep, but she never enjoyed the noises (crickets, water) or any of the music in order to go to sleep. We never really set the clock to off with a sound, but you can certainly do that if you wanted to. Inexplicably, yesterday the clock just stopped working. It flashed and we tried to set it the clock and the buttons no longer worked. I was surprised because the clock never fell on its head.

First, my 3 year old was very excited for this and loved that it had lights and was an owl!she was also very excited that it changes colors and was very receptive to the rule that she can only leave the room when it turns green.Another perk- I love that it has the option to play white noise and another device for the noise wasnt necessary.The only con I have is that when the wake time is reached, the noise stops abruptly, which usually wakes up my daughter when she was still sleeping.But overall, this is a lifesaver and she listens to it so well

I found the instructions very lengthy and a bit confusing, so I had a friend go through them with me, she read and I worked the buttons. The light is very bright and pretty and I think it is really made for a younger person, maybe between 12 and 40ish. Because of it's brightness, you wouldn't be able to sleep in a darkened room if you are used to that. The radio works great and the colors are beautiful. The light also works great as a night light and for reading as well. All in all, I think kids would absolutely love it, especially the beautiful colors. I have a 10-year-old grandson and I know what to get him for his birthday!! Also, the price is reasonable as compared to other numerous different brands out there to choose from. I have three other ROCAM clocks in the house. Great products!!

Wish it lasted more than a year.

I am the type of person who sets at least 3 alarms then snoozes through all of them. I've tried putting the clock across the room, super loud alarms, annoying music, but nothing works. Except this fancy alarm clock! This is very easy to use. the sunrise function begins 30 minutes before the time you set the alarm-- this as well as the brightness and tones can be adjusted. I find myself waking up before my alarm actually goes off now because my bedroom is flooded with brightness. It even wakes my senior dog!

This is a pretty cool alarm clock especially with the colors and the sunrise function. I like that the clock can be used as a night light or even a reading light. I also like that I can charge my phone or tablet by connecting the usb cord to the back of the clock. The instructions were long and certain parts were a little confusing. The main thing I don't like about the clock is the manual tuning for the radio function, it took forever to get to 103.3. Also the auto tuning would not pick up my station and it was hard to set stations to preset.

This clock has been a life changer for getting my daughter to sleep longer in the mornings (past a 5:30am wake up). We started using it with her around 20months old, and after about a week she completely understood it. We were quickly able to get her to sleep longer with the help of the wake up lights as an alarm. The built it white noice machine is also a great feature, and nice to have all-in-one product! The only downfall we experienced is that we had trouble with a button not working properly, but customer service was outstanding and is fixing it for us. Highly recommend!

Having played with this clock for about a week (off and on), I can say that overall I like it. It's colorful and entertaining to a point. It's fun to play with, too. But, all that being said, I'm not going to keep it. I am giving it to a young niece as it is something a young(ish) girl would like. That's much more appropriate than a 72 year-old codger like me.I was a little harsh. For its purpose it is excellent.
