Reese Pro 49903 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit with Sway Control

High Quality out of the box. This is a very heavy unit and it is probably best to take it out of the box to move or install. Installation is very straightforward but one needs to take the time to adjust things properly. The hitch insert is quite big and heavy for a standard SUV but that is necessary for adjusting the ball height. Read the instructions and follow them. I am very pleased with how easy it is to adjust weight depending on what you are towing. The sway control even makes my wife feel confident when I get tired and she takes over. Before we put this hitch on she simply would not drive while towing.

So I have had over a dozen campers including a popup to 31ft pulled by Superduty diesel to 3 class C rv's. Now I have this setup thinking it came with swaybar. The sway is built in. And it does NOT sway, at all. My current setup is wrangler 4dr and 19ft KZ escape single axle. I have been telling everyone to get this setup. To boot; I called reese last week because someone stole one of the heavy equalizer bars from my camper from driveway. Who would uv thunk you have to keep them secure? Anyway; they sent me a new one free of charge. So there is no reason not to give these folks your business. Read my other reviews( not a ton of them) and this is not a fabricated review. I did submit a couple stupid reviews to get a free camera I think that I need to go take down or adjust.

My kids and I got a camper and tool it out for the first time this weekend. I had bought these bard because hauling the camper scared me, it was very wobbly. This was a big purchase for us but we needed it. I didn't feel safe without it.I had someone install the hitch but the bars were really hard for the kids and I. We tried in 95 degree heat for an hour and finally git them on. Or so we thought! Anyway, on our way home we must have not had the bar in correctly because we lost one. Obviously that's NOT the company's fault. We have a big trip planned next month and we were sick about losing one. I cannot spend another $400. I contacted the company and asked if I could please buy a replacement. They just said NO. No reason, no suggestion of where to look for a replacement, nothing. Are they required to do so? Of course not. But would a lot of other companies go above and beyond to help a family out? Yes, they would. I know I would. I am now searching for a replacement that will fit. Stressing about this trip and whether we will be safe driving. I literally just bought this three weeks ago. Shame on them!

This model will work fine for me, so I'm not returning it. But as another reviewer mentioned, it is not the model that appears in the photo on Amazon. This model has no chains like the traditional weight distributing hitches. Instead it uses steel hanger brackets that catch the weight bars. I guess this system provides sway control through the friction between the bars and the hanger brackets. None of this is explained in the directions, which are not very good. This model did not come with a separate sway control as pictured in the photo on amazon.The product was poorly packaged, and pieces of it were protruding through the flimsy box when I found it on my doorstep. Fortunately none of the pieces were missing, although I initially thought maybe the sway control unit had slipped out. But I found a listing for this product on amazon which describes it as having an "integrated sway control" system. That must be the hanger bracket I mentioned before.So I think this model will work just fine for me, but it is not what I was expecting based upon the photo on Amazon.

Quality product, just what I needed to secure my travel trailer to my vehicle

I ordered this hoping it would be what I needed.Not only was it exactly what I needed, the total cost delivered to my front door was $10.00 more than the local RV shop can get the same item wholesale, without the sway control.My only complaint was the instruction sheet got packed between a couple of the pieces of steel and arrived cut jaggedly across in a diaganol way. An e-mail to the retailer resulted in an almost immediate e-mail back with a PDF of the original I could print out for myself.The package arrived several days before the expected ship date. In other words, even with normal delivery the package arriced very quickly.I was afraid it would be some Chinese knock off but in fact it turned out to be identical to the Reese Pro Series available for sale at my local RV shop.

This is a great weight distribution hitch, no doubt about it. However, this unit does not come with the anti sway as pictured. Also, this unit does not use chains for the load springs, rather the spring sits in an included bracket eliminating the need for the chains. This was a plus in my opinion, once set up, you no longer need to sit there and count chain links to get the load distribution you want.

Ive only put a couple hundred miles on this but it seems to be working fine. It seems to be rather noisy when backing up and turning. I did install the sway control and I have to remember to remove that when backing up . I will say also that the price was great . Of course the dealer where I bought my new trailer supposedly had the best going for 750.00 ! 214.00 was a lot better and its getting the job done ! Shipping was fast also but the box had a hole in it . Nothing missing though !

Like that everything was included with the actual hitch i.e. 2 hitch balls, equalizer bar, etc. Price was awesome too !Delivery was exceptional....

Pulled my trailer perfectly.

Shipping was fast for a heavier box (70lbs) and everything was there. Set-up was fairly easy (good video's on youtube) and it works very well, can't say enough about this system - excellent value for the $$

The item was easy for self installation with step by step instructions. Works great.
