Coming from a more expensive backpack that start with O and end with Y, the material on this outdoor backpack seem a little thinner, a lil more fragile and cheaper. But for the price, it work surprisingly well. Padding is thin, buckles seem like they will break without much pressure, and the fabric is thin. One thing that is bad is the design for the water hose; it open from the top. So you can forget taking this backpack out in the rain or even drizzle since water can find it way in where the hose port is see picture. Another thing is for hiking backpack, there's no whistle on the middle buckle. But over all it has many little pocket and attachments, so work well for it purpose of a day hike.

First off let me mention I paid $14.75 for this backpack. It's currently being sold for $45.00. At $45.00 I'd say there are better options. But for what I paid it's an absolute steal. It will work great for what I need. I owned another Outdoor Products backpack that I had for years. It finally started falling apart. This is a replacement for that one. I don't think the quality of this one is as good as the other I owned, but if I get a few years out of it, I'll be happy. Especially for what I paid for it. One negative I have is that it does only have one main compartment. The pictures are a bit misleading. They give it the look that it has two compartments. This to me is not a big issue but it would have been nice if it did have two. All in all I'm happy with this pack. Wait til it's back down price wise to at least $20 and under. Worth it all day long then.

Holds all the gear you need. Two complaints. First, the main lifting strap ripped on one side. Second, there is only a single compartment inside which makes it hard to organize your gear. Overall at this price, it's totally worth it.

Nice backpack for the price, but the clips broke and the shoulder pad frayed quickly.I was only able to use this for a few weeks before it became unusable. First the clip that holds the straps across your chest broke, then the strap got twisted and frayed, and then the clip that holds the strap around your waist broke.

For the weight this is awesome. However the shoulder pads are too small and uncomfortable. The material rolls over the pad making it less comfortable. The Chest strap is terribly designed. I removed it and it is not needed. I also took the frame stays out. They are not needed. Some of the seems appear to be coming apart. They haven't yet. I love the extra zipper into the main compartment. This is better than those rediculous roll tops for ease of access. I like all the compartments and the hip pockets. I put gloves and a dehydrated meal in each. Overall, this is a good pack for the money. You can get ultralight for under $200. I have purchased 2 of them. Just beware of the cons, they are not that bad for me.

This is a great pack for summer weekend backpacking trip. It's light weight (3.4 lbs) and big enough (35L) for everything I need for a weekend. It has trekking pole holders and load lifters. There's no front straps but that was easily remedied with a couple small carabiners and some shock cord. I also use this bag as a weekender because it can be front loaded instead of top loaded and it has a handle on the front. The best part was that I got this backpack on sale for $20 and like all Outdoor Products it's lifetime warrantied (can't go wrong with that). This backpack has served me well on several trips already and I expect it to continue to do so. You can't beat the quality for the price.
