and was not at all bored as i usually am
Werleman is a gifted writer. I learned a tremendous amount about American politics, economic and other topics of social science, and was not at all bored as i usually am.However, the title suggests that the book would be about the strong correlations between IQ, education, earning...and LIBERAL politics. or, to state it the other way, the tight association of religiosity and conservative political ideology. However, the book only touched in passing on Atheism, and I'm not sure those comments showed any connection between conservatism and faith.I'd be interested to know if the lower IQ and less education (which certainly segregate with religiosity as well as conservatism) is the link. Or are there other demographic connections between the two.Does "faith," which encourages non-critical (and often magical) thinking predispose to conservative ideology? Is it something in the water of the red states that is responsible for all these markers? Is there something in the bible that says one should not pay taxes in order to experience "freedom?"These are possibilities i have considered. It is no accident that Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry and Rick Santorum are conservatives and don't believe in (or have "serious" questions about) evolution. On the other hand, I cannot name one democrat or liberal political figure who holds such an anti-intellectual position.

Nice and concise
Again, us atheists give the only alternative to planet wide destruction. Theists base their logic and solutions on "God". Which God, whose God? Don't they realize (in the world) that most of the people are not Christian. BTW. Why did my tablet capitalize christian? I am so sick of their ignorance and this book is a testament to exposing it. Hallelujah we are saved!

Right Wing's corrosive track record
I enjoyed hearing from "the other side" of our political river. It was important that the author give references to his "facts." It was refreshing that someone took to task the Right Wing agenda's and track record. We need more of this over the air waves as well as television. It may be all over social media, but I shy away from social media.Keep the informatiom coming. It is enlightening. The question is; how to get people outside of their political belief system to read this? We have to battle the Evangelical's, right?

Excellent book, full of logical arguments and facts
Excellent book, full of logical arguments and facts, presented in a clear understandable way. Everybody should read it, especially atheists, agnostics and open-minded people.

The book could have used a good editor/proofreader -- faulty punctuaton
This history, the syllogisms and the logic are undeniable. The book could have used a good editor/proofreader -- faulty punctuaton, mis-spelled words, clumsy sentences. run on sentences, etc. A good read.

A great fact based book with an unfortunate title.
It's too bad that "Atheist" is part of the title because that is going to prevent a lot of people from reading this important book. I'm an atheist too, but this book is too important to be marketed to such a niche audience. I wish that all voters would read it.The Right has pulled a great scam on the American people and it's a real shame that so many Americans have helped and are helping the Right to loot the country to benefit the wealthy at the expense of everyone else. People have been conned, especially in the South ,into blaming the Government, minorities, and "socialism" for the failures of Republican ideology and bad economic policies. It's incredible how so many of the very people who would most benefit from Unions have been brain washed into believing that Unions are " bad" .It's infuriating that these simple minded folks are dragging the rest of us down with them.

Great read
Writer's ability to coherently advance his thesis is remarkable. It was hard not to be swayed by its gripping logic.

I loved it's straight forward stance. It is an easy read with a humorous tone on what is the most serious topics of our time.
Progressives from the South can read this book and know that they haven't lost their minds. I love living in the mountains but this right wing extremism is beyond bearable.

This was a very good analysis of the Republican threat on democracy in America
This was a very good analysis of the Republican threat on democracy in America. It is really quite scary the threat posed to democracy by the big corporations and the church. Two big disappointments: the proof reading. There were so many mistakes it was embarrassing, I hope CJ breathes down the necks of his publishers to ensure that these don't carry forward to the second print run. Second, there was a lot of material from Crucifying America towards the end of the book. Those of us that bought the earlier book will no doubt feel a bit short changed. On the other hand it is probably more important that the message gets across, so I can probably bare it!!
