Another Good One
Darcy Coates is my favorite thriller author. She keeps everything well spread out through her books. Nothing feels too slow or too rushed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Another fantastic book from Darcey Coates!
I've been wanting to read this book from Darcy Coates since I discovered how much I love her writing. And believe me when I tell you, HUNTED will not disappoint. I loved it! But then again, I have yet to read one of her books that I don't love! Her writing is brilliant in a way hard to describe if you’ve never read one of her novels. The words jump off of the page with such imagery and emotion, it's impossible not to become completely enthralled and invested. As with Darcy Coates's other books, the characters are developed so well in HUNTED. Fierce friendships take center stage in this story as our protagonists risk everything to save someone they love. Chris, Anna, Hailey, and Flint set out on what many would call a suicide mission to find and bring home friend and sister, Eileen, who has gone missing in a forest haunted by an evil no one could have prepared for. The term loyalty takes on a whole new meaning as you read what these friends are willing to do for one another. And tenacious, heroic police officer Carla will stop at nothing to find that evil and stop it, once and for all.Reading this book, as with others from Darcy Coates, is like watching a movie in your head — she does that like no other. And HUNTED was so intense, so edge of your seat fantastic, I couldn't put it down. Horrifying moments filled the pages, truly creating the things of nightmares. Now I'm off to discover my next fabulous read from Darcy Coates!

Another first book order from amazon and then a late review
The book was genuinely thrilling and was wonderful is portraying a sense of isolation and helplessness! It was a page turner right from the start. As the story was wonderful and thrilling the characters, the ending and some situations was not up to my liking.Let me start with the characters, all of them were making questionable decisions and some plain “not the brightest moment” kind of decisions. Most of them were not likable at all.The thing about the whole police not being aware the amount of missing persons they have in their area was beyond me at all. There has to be a certain amount of incompetency and carelessness in their precinct for them to not even be aware of each other’s cases. Especially one as concerning as missing people. Now the ending was the one that ruined the good read for me. For all that has happened and for the only death that transcribe, the group of friends were not held responsible for their careless actions and stupid decisions. Ana’s family seemed pretty chill about their daughter dying and seemed accepting of the group of friends(that was more than 85% responsible for her death) being there at the funeral? It felt pretty forced for me. For a family who lost their daughter I was expecting for them to be angry at the people who were a factor for the cause of her death. I was expecting for the group to be held accountable for their actions. But there was none which was pretty disappointing to me.

Intense
This is one book I had trouble with. I had work to do, but I couldn’t put it down. From the first page I knew this was a good one. But I had no idea how it would latch on and never let go. Great story.

This book needs to be made into a movie!
Spoiler alert: The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of Todd. He was dropped off by the shuttle at the forest to go hiking (after Eileen had been reported missing) and never got on the return shuttle or arrived back to his hotel. Wouldn't the hotel have notified the police that a young guy who had been asking about the missing girl hadn't returned to his room and never checked out? That's a hole in the plot, but other than that, I thought it was an edge-of-your-seat thriller!

A Wonderfully Intense Horror Thriller
Hunted by Darcy CoatesHunted by Darcy Coats is a wonderfully intense horror thriller. Her writing is effortless, easy reading, and tells an eerie, sinister horror story with many twists and turns. While on a solo trip, Eileen goes missing while hiking in the remote Ashlough Forest. Her camera is found washed downstream. It has pictures from her hike but it also has strange pictures taken at night of the same spot in the dark forest. When the police close the missing person case for lack of evidence, her brother Chris and four of their friends mount a search of the hiking trails and the forest in hopes of rescuing Eileen. They are convinced they can see something stalking her in the last pictures from the camera. They leave the trails behind and plunge into the forest. As they travel deeper into the forest, they become even more convinced that “something” is following and watching them. Their rescue mission has become a fight for survival and keeps the reader guessing who will survive. The final twist of the story is an ending I never even imagined let alone saw coming.Hunted is a tense, exciting read that draws the reader into the story. The character development is excellent and very believable. I can really see a group of people acting and reacting the way they did.I highly recommend Hunted by Darcy Coates.

Showstopping
An incredibly written book with a gripping and entangling story, full of loveable and complex characters, as well as ethical questions that linger long after finishing. It was incredibly hard to put this book down at any point.

Haunted Forest - or is it???
Loved this story from Darcy Coates. A departure from the haunted house genre she specializes in but just as fantastic. I could see this being a movie with lots of jump scares and night time forest monster chases. Twist at the end I didn't see coming.Great read.
