Very good curry. It's plenty hot so use sparingly.

Excellent curry. If I'm only going to make a dish with curry once in a while I want to make one with the very best and this is it!

It is fairly hot which is ok if you like hot. But not too hot, for me anyway. I felt that the curry flavor was overridden somewhat by some of the other spices. But, each brand is different.

I was an Indian housewife for ten years in India, married into a community rooted in Bangalore. Once a year, all of the women of our extended family would gather at my mother-in-law's house. We all had cotton saris that had long ago been dyed yellow because of turmeric stains. When we'd don these saris the men would start grumbling and complaining because it meant that we were going to make a year's worth of curry powder and they'd have to shift for themselves, food wise, and vacate the premises because of all the chili dust in the air. So the supplies would be delivered by the dry-goods merchant. We'd sort and measure and sniff through piles and piles of coriander, cumin, fenugreek, black mustard, coriander, 4 varieties of chilies, turmeric root, and asafoetida. Picked it all over for stones or deliberate adulteration, argued about quality or strains or proportions of ingredients, and roasted each carefully to exactly the right degree. In the end, we'd send someone off to the miller with a maund (37.4 kg) of ingredients to be ground into a powder. This powder was then divided among the representated households for the year's supply. And, you guessed it, Bolst's tastes very similar and it's a whole lot easier to come by! You may have also guessed that I'm Seattle Sue rather than Seattle Sam. LOL

I just ordered and received this curry powder. But the best by date on the container is Feb 2014. That is less than 5 months away!

I've used Bolsts curry powder for years. This did not taste the same as previous purchases. And there was no heat! Hope it was a one-time problem.

J'ai essayé de trouver un curry chaud pour cuisiner mais ce curry est juste doux. C'est surprenant puisqu'il vient directement d'Inde. J'ai été très déçu. Je ne peux pas recommander ce produit et je ne l'achèterai pas encore.

I love this curry powder and have been using this brand for years! Since my grandmother was actually born in India the King family has always loved curry!!

Ich habe bisher ein Curry mit damit angerührt (zugegebenerweise mit Kokosmilch, deren Fettgehalt entschärfend wirken kann) und empfand es tatsächlich eher als mildes Curry. Was mich überraschte, da ich jetzt auch nicht übermäßig scharfes Essen vertrage, beim Inder eher mittelscharf. Geschmacklich war es aber wirklich gut und ich würde es auch wieder kaufen.
