Redshift Sports Water Bottle Mount for Aerobars w/Bottle Cage

I love the location this places my water bottle, its very convenient and I love how well it integrates with the aero bar kit. Unfortunately this blocks two screws which hold down one of the aero bars and those have a tendency to rattle loose occasionally. The bigger problem is this does not securely hold water bottles. I have tried 6 different water bottle brands, and as I go over bumps or rough terrain the bottle bounces itself forward until it falls out. While riding I had only one hand on my handlebars and was checking my Garmin watch, right as I reached down the water bottle fell off the front. Because of the location the bottle went directly under my front tire which kicked my wheel hard to the left. Had I brought my hand down even one second later I would be typing this from a hospital bed right now. I either have to push the water bottle back into the cage every mile or when I'm in aero hook my thumb over the top of the water bottle to keep it in place. This is a design flaw that is going to get someone badly injured or killed.

Bought this to fit with the Red Shift aero bars/seat post I also bought and it's very well made and lightweight and grips the bottle really well. I bought the XLAB Torpedo refill kit to use with it and the 2 go well together. The only issue is there is no computer mount with this set-up that's possible whether you set the bottle in it's more forward position or further back. Not being able to see the bike computer while I'm racing is a deal breaker for me so I will either move to the XLAB cage which has a computer mount option ahead of the bottle or get the computer mount from Red Shift and use my normal cages (not BTA). UPDATE: Bought the computer mount in the end to try and see if I could get it working and it is possible - see additional pics.

Their whole system uses 3 different sized bolts, which means you have to carry more tools. The cage has rattled loose a couple times, it is only held on by one bolt. That bolt is impossible to screw tight while the cage is attached. The cage is too stiff to use with my camelbak podium chill bottles. The tip of the bottle ends up hitting the handle of my aero bars when trying to get it out. It has launched a normal bottle.

It's held on with one screw. If that screw loosens you're screwed,.. er, out of luck. Poor design, surprisingly, given excellent design of rest of aero system.

I was in Philadelphia two weekends ago for the TriRock Olympic and I was surprised Redshift had a booth near where the packets were being picked-up. My problem was I only had one bottle cage in my bike and I was going to order another brand to fit between my aerobars. I was glad I waited because I got to see this in person. So, I got this this wonderful Water Bottle Mount along with the Redshift water bottle in time for my race on Sunday. It was a simple set up and the bottle didn't even move an inch while riding the bike portion. The cage can be squeezed together (without the bottle in the cage) to make a tighter fit around the water bottle and its enough to keep the bottle in place. I have been riding my bike since and I'm totally satisfied with the mount and the water bottle. Thank you.
