Love the way it feels
TLDR: great product and easy to follow along with video for beginners. Highly recommended. First of all, this isn't my first time modding controllers. I'd bought the following for PS4 controllers: metallic blue buttons, baby blue front shell, pink front ahell, pink back shell, purple back shell, baby blue buttons, pink buttons and purple buttons. *I have not finished all the projects I have for these. But I've used a couple of them (as pictured; the blue thumbsticks are from another manufacturer.) It was as easy as it could be for fighting with the typical controller bits. I love the way the buttons feel and how everything looks when put together. What's great is how easy it is to COMPLETELY customize. (Only wish there were more color options, but that's just me. There's still plenty enough.) For those who haven't done it before, there are easy to follow along with videos. (I took it upon myself to watch one, just to see how well, or not well, they were made.) I, as a person with ADHD, think that these videos make it easy for newbies to follow along with. Each package comes with the tools that you will need, however I do reccomend that you have some alcohol pads on standby in case you have some mess inside your controller to clean. One of mine, I'd gotten used, and was glad I was prepared. Looks like a previous owner spilt some stuff on it. (Not like that really matters here. Haha.) I used my tools because I like the way they feel better than what this comes with. However, if you don't have the necessary tools, you will after purchasing this. But definitely worth getting if you want to customize your controllers in any way.

Great!
I had a lot of problems putting this controller together. The silicone part behind the PS button doesn't look like it will fit. It doesn't look like it does on my original shell. I promise, it fits. I even cut the holes on the silicone, which was unecessary. The screw holes on the hand grip part, don't line up. I don't know whos fault that is though. I did use a bottom shell from a different company, but it could have also been the original innards that loop around that make it not line up. I used a heat gun to help. I also cut the little stems that usually lock the top and bottom together...those little clips that usually break the first time you open the shells to mod? I figured I didn't need them. There are gaps in the seems by the triggers. I don't know if it is because I broke apart the clips? It doesn't bother me, but I see a lot of reviews and most people don't like that. I think it looks great and everything feels solid and works the way it should (I always test all features as soon as I get it together) I also have a clear hard shell skin coming in to protect it. All in all, I know buying Dualshock parts is an adventure because you don't know what you are going to get, especially if you aren't sure what it is that you already have. This is a great piece that works for me!

Avoid this
Horrible - doesn’t fit the controller. I’ve used Extremerate before and I was very happy with my Nintendo accessories. I decided to give this shell a try. The controller itself is much easier to take apart than the Nintendo ones - but the shell just DOESNT fit. The buttons get stuck, it doesn’t fully close...just not good at all. I purchased an entire PS4 controller set - buttons, joycons, front shell back shell...ended up paying about $65 expecting the quality to be matching that. Well I was certainly wrong. Returning this and won’t be buying again.

Faceplate fits PS4 pro controller
Controller texture is great, very soft feels good and the pink color goes well with the black. I suggest making sure you have the proper controller. I did a practice run on my broken controller just to practice taking it apart and the screw assembly on the mainboard was opposite from this faceplate. But luckily it fit on my new controller which they advertise on this product. The screws were a bit tight getting them into the faceplate but I know it will hold just be carefull to not strip the screws (thankfully it comes with extras). Last thing is when I got it all assembled and tested it out, there was a lot of rattling. Where the bottom screws set in the faceplate they fit through this hole that attaches to the mainboard where the vibrator rotating things are (idk the name. I'm pointing to where I mean in the picture.). All I did was put some electrical tape around the post where the screw sets and no more rattle. Minus that setback the faceplate looks great and feels solid.

Fits CUH-ZCT1U controllers with a few adjustments!
Bought the chameleon shell and I think it looks great! My only problems with it are due to it not being made for my controller, but with a few adjustments, it's in 100% working order~ (I couldn't find a compatible shell for my controller, so I figured I'd buy an incompatible one and see just how incompatible it was... Turns out, it's not far off!) 1. Remove the thin plastic bar underneath the touchpad! Otherwise the touchpad won't depress. 2. Lightly shave down the thin plastic that holds the share/options buttons in place. They're Just Slightly too tight & the buttons get stuck. 3. Cut out/shave down a triangle of plastic that sits behind the L1/R1 buttons. Otherwise they're unable to be pressed! (without excessive force anyway) The 3rd step is the only part I had any trouble with bc they're in a sort of awkward spot... but overall pretty easy! I haven't noticed any drawbacks to removing/shaving down any of these pieces. Just be careful when removing the plastic by the triggers!

A nice color accurate controller shell
Despite my best efforts, my photo's coming out over and under saturated. However, the image they share of the shell is very accurate to what you get. There is a few spots on the opposite side that trend toward white, but it won't ever be seen after assembly. The shell also doesn't feel cheap at all. It's as sturdy and textured well like my original shell (green camo). I paired this with their 4 button back shell and noticed a gap near the headphone jack/extension port. While not a problem in the slightest for me, some may find this annoying or too inconvenient. From a person who has bought custom controllers and built a few myself, this is an unfortunate reality of custom building. It's worth the price and time of opening up your controller for the look and feel.

Needs lots of sanding to function
The eXtremeRate Faceplate Cover is decent in terms of finish, but the improper fit of the Start Button and Left Thumbstick ruin it. There isn't a way to resolve the fit without sanding, so you'll need to put in a lot of work and have the right tools. These defects affect gameplay and can't be overlooked. The first thing you'll notice is that these covers are a much softer plastic. I'm not referring to the 'soft-touch' rubber coating on the outside, but rather the shell itself is a very soft and springy plastic. This is actually pretty cool because it allows you to remove the cover without breaking the tabs if you ever need to make changes. The softer plastic also allows for a very flush finish on the edge of the controller. Since it is so soft you may have issues clipping the controller together. Mine had a tendency to pop apart and I would have to hold the pieces together with one hand while putting in a screw with the other. The second thing you'll notice is that the cover itself doesn't have threads in the screw holes. That means you'll need to create the threads when you put in the screws for the first time. You need to do this with a steady hand and with steady pressure. While this isn't necessarily an issue, it does mean that you can overtighten the screws without really knowing it. The shell itself will simply bend and give, and an overtightened faceplate prevents the rubber contact pads within from working properly. None of these previous things are really an issue. It isn't until you put the controller together and attempt to use it that you realize that there is a molding issue. Using both a JDM-40 and JDM-50 I ran into similar problems with the left Thumbstick. The thumbsticks for both sets of internals would get stuck in the down and down-right position. It felt like a subtle grind and stick. For the JDM-40, my start button would get stuck on the return. I would press it down fine, but it would stick coming back up. The JDM-50 had less of an issue because the Start Button is built into the circuit board and there isn't a loose button. Regardless, the thumbstick sticking was a deal breaker. Unless the faceplate was loose enough to pop open the scraping would occur. So, what about sanding it down and fixing it? Well I didn't attempt this. The reason being that the faceplate isn't a solid piece of rubbery plastic, it's soft plastic with a smooth coating of rubbery material on the front and in the button holes. Sanding the inner edge could fix it, but catching the rubber coating might introduce an airgap and eventually ruin the finish entirely. I didn't want to take the risk and instead decided this product was just not right for me.

Very beautiful but...
The color and the style is really beautiful it’s jus the fit of the face plate itself on the controller doesn’t quite fit properly which doesn’t allow the buttons to be aligned correctly or work properly. Still a very beautiful color tho.
