We've used these gels for many times ever since we bought a fondue set over 10 years ago. They are great value for money, easy to use and last for more than enough time for you to scoff your way through a sitting of melted cheese (or chocolate if that's your thing).One word of warning (and this isn't the manufacturers fault, just our own stupidity). I tried to reuse a pot that had a bit left in it once and had trouble lighting it as it had obviously dried somewhat, I used a dash of white spirit to get it started. Initially it seemed a good idea but the flames gradually grew higher and were eventually licking the side of the rim of the fondue pot....there was lots of black smoke too....I won't be doing that again.For those cheese lovers out there try it with some medium cooked steaks cut into small chunks as well as bread, you'll thank me later!!

Expensive but does work well in small holders

exactly as advertised, burns well, one lasts the whole meal.

Used today for first time. Easy to light. No odour,smoke or bits. Burned well for over an hour and I would say there's at least the same amount of burning time left...if not more. Excellent for the fondue. In the 70s these would have been great. Good value for money.

Easy and clean to use

We occasionally have meat fondus with guests running two fondus on the table at once. I've used this product for a few years and I cannot find any fault with it. Each one I've used lasts for the whole meal (having pre-heated the oil on the hob before the meal starts) usually with gel to spare. The gel lights up easily and provides the right level of heat (with adjustment of the burner) to allow meat to cook well. I'd recommend this product highly.
