The Mitford Years Complete Set, Volumes 1-9 Paperback – January 1, 1968

The entire set, came all packaged together and just as described. So happy to find the set in tact!

I read a set of these and loved them. Couldn't put them down!!!! So this set I bought for my sister for a birthday present. Don't know yet about her outcome.

The Mitford series of books was recommended to me by a stranger in a waiting room. And what an excellent favor this person did for me. Easy reading, totally enjoyable, romantic, a feel good book, every one in the set. I have read them several times and this is my second set of the books. I love them.

It is rare that I want to purchase hardback editions of books, but this series of books "touched my soul" in such a way that having physical copies of them in my library became an imperative. I purchased the books second had and all were in great condition, and came quickly. I often use them as a reference going back to read and reflect on favorite passages. Jan Karon's the Mitford Series is a must read for everyone. Fr. Tim and the cast of characters quickly brought to mind people in my own life with similar traits that sent me down a rabbit hole of personal memories and reflections. I immediately embraced the recurring cast of characters, joining in celebrating and agonizing every temporal moment (love, loss, marriage, birth, death) as they journeyed through life. Do yourself a favor and read these books. On a separate note, I primarily listened to these books with audible. John McDonough is the narrator for most of the books and is an amazing voice actor. He truly brings Fr. Tim to life.

The set came with a duplicate book and lacked book 1. So I had to order book one again and will donate the extra copy of the extra book.Otherwise it was a great cost for 9 books in a set.

The series is uplifting!

Before I speak about the book series from a reader's perspective, I'll talk about my order from a customer's prospective. I ordered volumes 1-9 (which should have ended with book 9 "Light from Heaven") but whomever I bought this from sent TWO EXTRA MITFORD BOOKS! That's right!! I got BOTH Father Tim novels, "Home to Holly Springs" and "In The Company of Others"! I was so blessed and surprised. (Note: this was before "Somewhere Safe With Somebody Good" and "Come Rain or Come Shine" were released, so at this time, I paid for 9 books and ended up getting the entire 11 book collection). I was so bedazzled by this generosity.Now, from a reader's perspective: Mitford is a place where I feel at home. I slip into the rectory, the vernacular, the town bookstore, and the well-worn pew at the Lord's Chapel like it is where I belong. This series fits like a cozy knit sweater, warms like a cup of hot cider, inspires like poetry, and satisfies like a daily devotional. Jan Karon is a blessing to the world of literature and I thank God for her stories.

The books were shipped very well for protection. They are in good shape too.
