I can't pretend to understand the mechanics behind this simple sleeve, but as a chronic sufferer of plantar fasciitis, I love these things. I found my first pair, a different brand, at Walmart and bought them out of desperation for extra support and relief. Anything, right? I loved those, so when I saw these on Amazon for two sets at the same price, I bought them right away. I already wear orthotics, but they don't fit in every shoe, and these promised to have extra padding which I also really needed. Like I said, I don't understand how these work, I just know that for me, they do. I slip them on, with or without socks, and wear them with shoes that need just a little more support than what they have. I have been able to wear shoes that normally have my feet begging for removal after an hour or two for several hours with no problems. I love the extra support, and the compression tension is extremely comfortable for me. (I wear a size 9 shoe, have grossly high arches and no fat padding on the bottom of my feet). I'd submit a pic, but there's already enough gross on the internet.

I was surprised when I put these on. Most are very tight and that is how they provide support, but these are very stretchy and not at all tight. I put them over socks and wore them with boots for the first two days and they worked very well. They feel a bit odd at first but by the end of the day I didn't feel them at all and my feet did not hurt. The third day I tried to wear them with sandals and no socks. They looked find under black sandals, but because they aren't tight, the padded part did not stay under my foot and this odd green teardrop part (the padded part) worked it's way onto the top of my foot which looked weird and defeated the point of wearing them. It continued to do this no matter how many times or how carefully I put it back in the correct position. So these do work over socks and inside shoes. Don't wear with sandals. If they were just a bit tighter they would be perfect. I may stitch them tighter and see if that solves the sandal problem.

My plantars seems to only bother me first thing in the morning, I wear these to bed, along with a pair of compression sleeves (not sure if the sleeves do anything other than keep these bands in place) and can get right up and walk, without having to put on shoes. I have also worn these when working out, long walks. They are very comfortable. I’m not sure if these would offer enough support if you had severe plantars, but for the price, I would give them a shot! Easy to wash too.

Think 99% of these reviews are fake. These flatten out in only a few days and don’t provide much support after that. I even tried using 2 doesn’t help much.

Unlike other "braces" these do not immobilize but rather they really seem to just provide arch support for walking barefoot or in shoes that don't have support. For the price, they are worth it. Not a cure but definitely seem to bring some level of comfort.

I have high arches and usually have trouble with heels over 2 inches because my weight ends up on the balls of my feet. When wearing wear these, that doesn’t happen and shoes are comfortable all day! I just wish that these were invisible so that they could be worn could with sandals...

First of all I forgot about my order, I have st up an appointment for podietrist tommorrow, all of a sudden I found this in my mail box, and it could have not arrived at a better time. Wish I had received it earlier because my planter faciatis have gotten worst, however as soon as I put them on I felt like I am in heaven.

Good points--I enjoyed the quick delivery. The product helped with cushioning the instep.Bad point--I was not able to use for long periods without more pain. I think it was because I have size 13 feet and the elastic was maxed out, therefore too tight for my needs.

I bought this hoping it would hold together better then the power step brand. Unfortunately it has zero support. The foam is so thin that when I put it on and step down I feel nothing. Waste of money and time waiting for it. Sorry
