Royal Velvet Hunter Green, Fabric by the Yard

Made a tote bag from this and have loads of fabric left over from the yard. It's not the first time I bought this exact fabric and I covered a couch with it!! Lovely.

This fabric is great — soft brushed texture, without added stretch.Many velvet/velvetine fabrics I’ve ordered online have wound up having some sort of elasticity, even if the description doesn’t state in fiber content, so I was prepared to receive the same sort of leotard-type material [even though it wouldn’t have been ideal]. Pleasant surprise to finally receive some non-stretch velvet!It’s thick and heavy which enhanced the quality appearance of my cloak project. Definitely upholstery-weight, but soft enough to drape [no plastic-y crinkle or stiffness]. I ordered in white and fabric is completely opaque. Will absolutely buy again for future projects.

This is beautiful fabric, they sent the wrong color. They did allow a return. I was very worried, because usually cut yardage isn't returnable. I then found it on Etsy and purchased it there. Good pricing too. I also discovered that "Royal velvet" comes in an array of colors. This fabric has a beautiful sheen to it and is super soft. I made Christmas stockings and tree skirts with it, they are beautiful with this fabric.

Ultimately I was able to tackle the project with this fabric but the color is definitely brighter red than it appears in the pictures when you order. But being on a time crunch I pressed on and it worked out.

Hard to find non-stretchy velvet. This fits the bill and is lovely. Embroidering on it and loving it so far.

This is my second time buying velvet fabric from this vendor. I bought some fabric from a different listing and looked specifically for the same fabric and vendor (but a different color) because I loved it so much. I originally got it to recover a chair seat, but liked it so much I made a ton of pillow cushions with it as well. It is easy to cut, use with a sewing machine, etc. The fabric isn’t thin and it looks like it will hold up nicely. I am very happy and probably will buy more of it in different colors.

Using this for a simple project and wanted a velvet-like fabric without stretch. This was very nice and is exactly what I had in mind.

Glad I have plenty of this stuff in black. It's not an off-black either, but a nice inky black without any weird undertones. I was trying to make a curtain from 1 yard of the 7 I bought. I went to do what I normally do to get a straight panel by cutting a notch and tearing the rest of the way- (if you know, you know)- but the tear curved to the right. Tried it twice and the same thing happened every time. It doesn't make a difference to me, but I figured I'd post it here in case someone could use the information. It is pretty and great of you like velvet but don't want to deal with the expense, or overly complicated prep work of sewing other types of velvet. Plus, this stuff has gorgeous draping potential. I plan on using the rest for apparel. I can't wait to start my build with this stuff, honestly. Get it if you don't mind not being able to tear it straight!
