RSMeans Contractor's Pricing Guide Residential Repair & Remodeling Costs 2015

I was going to give it a four star for being so simplistically formulaic in its presentation, then I thought heck no, easy to access standards and a simple layout are exactly what you want if you are trying to get an accurate quote to a customer. This book is awesome, and the only thing that would improve it would be in a simple same data base that I could query quicker than the book. I'm certain it's out there, and if not I might OCR it into a data base structure that I can use for my own purposes.

i understand were they get their information for pricing but some of it seems very low to me. but it says to adjust to my area. still i don't see how some people work for these prices. all in all this book is very informative, especially for getting prices on something you've never bid or did before.

My husband is a General Contractor. The main problem he runs into is what to charge for a project. This book has made his life so much easier. It breaks down projects into even the nuts and bolts used. Now he has a guide to use to make sure he bids each job properly. The book came very quickly and in perfect condition. I would buy from this seller again.

It's a good basis for larger projects but on small jobs it's completely useless.

So very helpful and very informative as well. I would suggest this book not only for the small to medium size handyman but for homeowner's looking to do work at their house. It will give you a ballpark figure and help weed out the garbage bids and those bids that our out of the ballpark completely.

This is an awesome resource for cost estimating. It can help you understand contractors bids as the book also includes labor.

Bought this for a friend who was losing money on almost every job. Great book. We made it PC friendly and usable on an I Phone. He's doing much better. There are a lot of hidden aspects of residential construction and remodelling that the book clarifies. This book tells you how it should be done and what it will cost.

The main problem as a General Contractor is what to charge for projects. Spending hours and hours getting estimates for bids on top of working consumes your life. This book has been a life saver! It has all the pricing needed to get the bid done in over half the time. I would refer this book to anyone who is looking for an affordable pricing guide and to really cut the cost of time used researching.
