An Excellent Light
An excellent light with very bright wide beam coverage. The high capacity 3400 mAh lithium battery is a plus when using the higher brightness levels. The only disappointment is the no-name charger.

Solid performance. Bought a second one.
UPDATE: I've been using this for 2 years now and it has been 100% reliable and tough during it's almost daily usage. Have purchased 2 more and highly recommend. Unless you need a headlamp that is ultra compact and uses standard batteries, this light is hard to beat.I was looking for a ultra bright headlamp that was tough and reliable with a wide beam and decent throw that uses lithium batteries. I also wanted something that could be used as a standalone flashlight (by removing the headstrap) or tabletop directional light, and this light fits the bill nicely for all those needs. Used for the last 2 months and highly recommended so far.

Nitecore is great, but watch out for this seller
This seller doesn't appear to be a US based company (Hong Kong or Mainland China) and won't accept the return of the headlamp they sent me even though it's been malfunctioning intermittently throughout the 10 days I've had it. The light, at times has been flickering on its highest setting even after I replaced the batteries. The seller has requested that I prove the malfunction is their fault and that I send video of the flickering. I have no idea how to prove fault, but I know that I've only had it 10 days and that it shouldn't have any problems after such a brief time regardless of fault. The light hasn't repeated the flickering problem when I've had immediate access to my video camera and when it has occurred, the flickering is so fast that it's over before I can even turn on the video recorder on my phone (doubt the flicker would be apparent on video anyway given the phone's light metering limitations).Anyway, this company has refused to initiate the return process after repeated requests from me and I've had to file an A to Z claim through Amazon.com. I'm not sure how it'll resolve, but wanted to spare others the potential for problems with this seller by posting my experience with them. The Nitecore lights I've had in the past (and others I currently own) have been really well made and have functioned flawlessly, so I think I just got one this time that had a little over-heating or faulty connection issue (it is a brand new model). I plan to purchase a replacement Nitecore headlamp whenever I get this seller problem resolved...but, obviously not from this seller.

For the money this is a great light .
Great light for the money , i have 2 now and use them at different locations while working. Most of the time using this lamp to aide in dark work situations. the 18650 batteries are a mixed bag. the higher price/quality ones ( i wish amazon listed Gram weight on the batteries) work awesome with this providing hours of light . For the money this is a great light .

My brightest headlamp
I had a few headlamps, the Nitecore HC50 is the brightest i had. 565 Lumens for the brightest setting & 1 lumen on the lowest. ◦Turbo: 565 Lumens/1.25 Hours◦High: 350 Lumens/2.75 Hours◦Medium: 170 Lumens/6.25 Hours◦Low: 35 Lumens/32 Hours◦Lower: 1 Lumen/5400 HoursFull aluminum construction means it's tough and it's using 18650 rechargable battery, save money n eco friendly when recharging. The only function it's lack of is the full press for turbo n half press for previous mode like the other hand held model. But overall, i'm satisfied.

Love It.
First off the seller was awesome, due to some misleading advertising the seller actually give me some refund. Now for the light I took it to camping and boy was it bright, this is the type of brightness as flood not focus, but it was great if you put it in a tent.

Very good quality, I bought 2 batteries just in case
Very good quality, I bought 2 batteries just in case, each cattery lasts for a while day and I use them a lot as an auto tech. I only wish the head band could comes off so that I could wash it.

Clarity - battery not included
Just so people know - there is no battery shipped with this. I may have missed that point in the product details. The single battery option adds £9 to the price if you go for the Nitecore 18650, there are cheaper options available on Amazon. I am going to test it with a couple of CR123A before buying anything else.Update many years on - this is a superb head torch, especially with the Nitecore rechargeable single battery. I live in a very dark rural area and having this on your head when walking the dog is amazing - your own personal searchlight. Battery life is good, easily copes with a working week of 30-40 mins a day of dark dog walks. Using it when doing DIY in dark corners is a real help. The brightness can be controlled by simply pressing the on/off button a number of times to get the level you want.

Simply brilliant!
Amazing light! Bought for use on a Cumbrian hill farm. Used whilst laying drains at 4.30am - I didn't notice it was pitch black darkness. The head band is very comfortable and secure whilst bending over working. Medium power is more than adequate for outdoor working. Lower power very good indoors or close work. Battery life seems good so far on Nitecore 2600. This headlamp is now first choice torch instead of my trusty Clusons. I will buy more Nitecore as long as this one is reliable.

Good quality head torch with "cool white" colour beam
Very good quality head torch with full metal construction: impact resistant, unlike plastic counter parts. Torch gives good flood beam and reasonable throw. The colour of the beam is "cool white", which personally I find it great for close proximity and/or indoor use, but prefer a less cool white colour beam for outdoor use as it is less straining on the eyes. Great for camping as well as jobs around the house. Could be improved further if it was lighter and fitted closer to the users head (e.g. lower profile). You get what you pay for and this will last for many years. NITECORE HC50 headlamp yellow/black 2014 headlightNITECORE HC50 headlamp yellow/black 2014 headlight

Probably the Best (other than the HC90)
This is simply a great headlamp with 5 power levels, which will meet most peoples needs, and a long battery life (I use a Nitecore 18650 3100mAh).With an all metal construction the build quality is first class.Have previously owned Petzl headlamps and they are not in the same league.Would strongly recommend.Ignore the 1 star rating given just because it doesn't come with a battery !!!
