Great book!
Well, it's just two pickups and a pair of pots right? HA! This book will bring you so far beyond that it's silly. Highly recommended!

Wiring your Tele and don't know where to start? I do...
The paper isn't of great quality, but the content is quite varied. If you're looking for a great variety of wiring patterns to make your Tele stand out, I'd start here.

Great resource for the DIY-er
I've been playing guitar for 20+ years now. I'm at the point where I want quality tone but really don't want to pay $3000 plus for high end gear. The answer is this book; now I can take my mid range gear and upgrade it to get that quality tone. The book is very thorough and goes into great detail of how to wire your Tele. Not only does this show you how to wire your guitar (there are a lot of free diagrams on the internet) but it explains the purpose of each component and how it works. A must for the players out there who are ready to start working on their own guitars.

Lots of detail but partially redundant with author's other book
There's good news and bad news. The good news is that this book has a tremendous amount of detail regarding the various wiring schemes for the Fender Telecaster for various kinds of pickups, pickup combinations, and pickup switches. The bad news:1) There are frequent references to colors regarding the wires in the diagrams. However, ALL the diagrams are in grey-scale thus rendering references to wire colors completely useless.2) Many parts of this book appear to be redundant with another book by the same author: "Advanced Hot Rod Techniques for Guitar" -- I wished this had been spelled out in the book descriptions. Each book stands on its own quite well, but I don't like it when it appears that the author is trying milk his readers by selling two books that superficially appear to be entirely different books but in fact there is considerable overlap between the two.

Every aspect and combination of pickups fot Telecasters
Just skimming through the book is an education. The text covers almost every aspect of the electronic components in an electric guitar. I knew there were many, but I didn't know how many combinations of pickups, capacitors, coil taps and potentiometers there are. This book is a wealth of reference material that will satisfy a beginner, like me, or a seasoned luthier. It's laid out in an easy to understand format, and is not filled with unnecessary technical data. The wiring drawings are simple, period. If you do any mods on your guitars, Telecaster or others, this book would be helpful.

Pretty much disappointed.
Should have listened to the other reviews more closely. Very simplistiic and cluttered with 'off topic' information about strats and les pauls. No schematics; just a lot of gray shaded pictorial diagrams. Also take exception to much of the terminology used, for example; "use a stronger capacitor". What does that mean? Think the author was trying to say 'more capacitance' as in larger value. That does not make it stronger.Trying to write a technical book for non-technical folks is a worthy cause. So, three stars for the effort.

TELEMASTER
Très bon livre . Les schémas sont clairs et précis; l'édition est agrémentée de photographies en n/b ; dommage que cela ne soit pas en couleurs. Cela me simplifie la vie

Brilliant, but download the PDF at the back of the book too.
Fascinating, and very informative if you're a Tele-geek or soldering iron botherer. But, you do need to download the PDF version too, since that has the colour diagrams the book lacks. Otherwise, does exactly what it says on the tin - a very comprehensive wiring guide. Most of the wiring diagrams are universally applicable too, not just for Teles - Guitar electronics are fairly standardised after all.

Essential reading
After eventually assembling my own bits'n pieces Tele, I thought "just have to wire her up now".....not so easy! Not that it's physically difficult, it's just, the options are almost limitless! This amazing book came to my rescue. Everything you could want is in here, with clear descriptions and illustrations. Also included, for some configurations, are links to webpage sound-bites, so you can get an idea of actual comparisons. A MUST HAVE read.

Good info. but let down by quality issues.
This book is essentially useful, i.e. the information contained is good, but, in line with other reviews, it's let down by the black and whiteness of it all - and the quality of the paper. It doesn't help that my eyes aren't what they used to be, but colour and sharpness make for a lot less straining of the eyeballs :-( I'd happily pay another tenner for a book which had colour diagrams, and was printed on glossy paper.

utile
libro utile e dettagliato con una pessima qualità di stampa. le foto non sono mai ridimensionate e quindi spesso sono di difficile interpretazione. vale comunque la spesa.

excellent
What a great book.Beside the fact that it is aimed to telecaster like guitars, it helped me to understand so many things about wiring and why I do prefer 2 volumes and a tone on a 2 PU guitars.I already rebuilt 3 guitars to my specs, and doing my fourth now.Even though, I don't use the whole book, it is worth it's price.I lent it to a friend of mine who's more into LP like electronics and guitars, he pick up some infos.GREAT BOOK.
