This story grabs you and whisks you along in an intriguing mystery.
This story starts with a strong and very visual scene as the body of a beautiful young woman is discovered naked posed on top of a statue of a horse Lady Godiva style. Inside the store a very treasured foxhunting prize is discovered to be stolen. This leads "Sister" Jane to try and solve the mystery. It is a fascinating and intriguing story, well worth reading, pure enjoyment.

The Tell-Tale Horse
I avidly await each new book in the Sister Jane series. This book did not let me down. I bought it in both hardback and audio...I am that addicted. First off, I think Rita Mae Brown really draws you into her stories. I love her interpretation of what animals think, she is dead on with Golly. Second, I thought it would not be right for someone other than the author to read the book on audio but I was wrong. The reader is awesome, she makes each character come to life and I could not stop listening to it. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Great Read
Sister Jane is one heck of a fox hunter and a fair hand at solving mystery's. The Tell-Tale Horse is one of the best in the Sister Jane line up of books. Some of the other books are very slow to get into the actual murder. They get a little too involved in telling how a hunt club is run, but this book jumps right into the murder mystery. Anyone that has picked up a Sister Jane Arnold mystery will fall in love with this book and not put it down until finishing the final chapter. Then it it like saying goodbye to a good friend. Wish Rita Mae Brown would write some more Sister Jane books. Would I tell someone to spend money on this book? In a heart beat!

Just love
Although there are times when I find Sister Jane doing too much serminizing, I still love all the kinds of love the books reveal. I have to come to love so many of the characters of the stories, that I wait eagerly for the next book and then have to start at the beginning and reread every Sister Jane again. Keep them coming, Rita Mae Brown!

THE TELL_Tale Horse by Rita Mae Brown
As a retired Fox Hunter, Browns books resonate with me. The excitement of the hounds finding the scent of the Fox and off you go. Brown knows her subject well and you don't want to put her books down. Marvelous. I would recommend her books to those who have never ridden, too.

Another fun Sister Jane and friends read.
Sister Jane and her friends just keep riding (often in very bad weather) and getting mixed up in all kinds of funny situations. The foxes, dogs, horses and birds have much to say about their humans and the mysteries occurring around them. As usual a real fun read.

good story, poor editing
Beihg a horse person, I avidly read all of Rita Mae Brown's "sister jane" books. While this story is somewhat engaging, I felt the editing and sentence structure were terrible. Every sentence was full of fragments, strung together by an over abundance of commas. Made for a disjointed read. Here's a sample: "Ilona Merriman, hairnet in place, derby correctly placed on her head - which is to say, straight across the brow -rode up to Sister, reined in Tom Tiger, her handy small Thoroughbred, gave a pregnant pause, and then tattled." Almost every sentence is structured this way. Found it very distracting from the storyline.

very enjoyable mystery series about foxhunting in Virginia called the Sister Jane series
Read this at the Edmonton Public library, now I'm adding it to my library. But the publication in the larger paperbacks is quite expensive unfortunately. Jo-Anne Willman, Edmonton.
