Great story of love and forgiveness
This the second book in the Porter family series from Holley, Texas and is the story of the second brother, Ty, a rodeo bull riding, too handsome, full of himself guy and Celia Park who had a crush on Ty in high school. Celia's dad moved their family around every few years but she for a while she lived in nearby Plano, Texas where she went to high school with the Porters. Celia went to college and now lives in Oregon. She and Ty haven't seen each other for several years but when Celia's friend from high school, called to inform Celia that Ty would be competing in Las Vegas in bull riding in the National Finals Rodeo, Celia convinced Lacey to meet her there for a girls' weekend and to attend the event. Celia and Lacey intercept Ty as he was leaving the arena so they could say hello. Ty remembered Celia and asked her out. They had a whirlwind romance for four days and then Ty convinced Celia to marry him at the Luv Shack Wedding Chapel on a spur of the moment whim. The next morning he admitted that he had made a mistake since he was in love with an estranged girlfriend back in Holley. Celia was heartbroken and angry when she went back to Oregon and Ty went on his way promising to file for a divorce and ask his girlfriend to forgive him. His girlfriend, Tawny, refused to forgive and resume their relationship.Five and half years later, Ty was in Las Vegas again to celebrate a friend's bachelor party when he sees the Luv Shack. Ty remembers the time spent with Celia and feels guilty about how he had treated her. After searching for her, he finds that she lives in Corvallis, Oregon and he made a decision to fly there to get closure with Celia and apologize for his actions five years ago. Shocked and disturbed by his call, she finally agrees to meet him for lunch. Ty has never filed for a divorce so they are still married but he told Celia that he would handle it. Celia has a secret that she doesn't want Ty to know about. They have a daughter, Addie. As Ty is leaving he found Celia's bracelet on the ground near their table in the restaurant and goes to her apartment to return it after finding out where she lives. When he sees her daughter and asked directly if she was his based on her age, Celia admits she is his.The rest of the story is about the three developing a relationship that they can live with where both parents can be there for Addie and stay civilized to each other. It is a wonderful story of love, forgiveness, compromise and finding God in everyday living. Becky Wade does a wonderful job of writing a story that draws one in with characters that are real and well developed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as her first two books. I look forward to the next books in the series.

Addie stole the show!
Ty and Celia might be the main characters in the story but their little girl stole the show!! She was very sweet and precocious and I loved her Princess obsession. My granddaughter is five too and she is totally over the moon for princesses and acts the same way. I also liked how the heroine made them champions of great causes too and not just princesses and she added that to the end of her stories. But let's move on to Ty. He was so hard hard hard to like. Yes he was a handsome, flirty, character but it felt fake to me. And what he did in Vegas was so unforgivable and heartbreaking it was awful. And even after he looked Celia up after five years he still kept thinking he loved Tawney!! After he knew about his daughter, after he had been saying all this stuff to Celia and he still wants Tawney! Oh I wanted to throw my book across the room. He hadn't kissed or looked at another woman for five years because he thought that was 'honorable' but he really wasn't honorable to me. I was glad he was celibate but he was still in love with someone else. So who was celibate for? Tawney or Celia? I mean his silly banter with Celia was very cute. I loved their back and forth and their nicknames but I didn't trust him at all. I just knew he would go back to Tawney. And Celia was wonderful. I loved how she kept being strong in the face of that big hunk of temptation and that she didn't waiver from her position on him. He hurt her deeply and yet he still loved the other woman in spite of all the flirting and praise he lavished on the heroine. She'd been there, done that and got the t-shirt. There was some pretty strong temptation in her path, and I loved that she stayed strong. The ending again was very sweet and so of course I loved the book. Even with my 'Ty' reservations, it ended with the whole 'aah' experience I love.

I'M STARTING A NEW FAN CLUB FOR TY PORTER.
There are books that are good, and then there are ones that when you read the last word, you let out a long sigh. That would be a sigh that is quickly followed by a warm and tingly sensation, and what comes after reading an amazing book. that is exactly what happened with MEANT TO BE MINE by BECKY WADE.A friend of mine read MEANT TO BE MINE and proceeded to let me know I MUST read it. She’s read some of my writing, knows my fascination for cowboys. She knew the fact that the hero is a bull rider, would be enough to entice me. Needless to say, she was right.Celia Park has had a crush on Ty Porter since the day she laid eyes on him in high school. Years later in Vegas, it didn’t take long to realize her feelings for the cowboy hasn’t changed.Ty Porter is making a living doing what he does best - riding bulls. A few days n Vegas with Celia Park, gives way to his reckless side. Doing something that would change the course of their lives, and cause him to focus a hundred percent on his career and little else.MEANT TO BE MINE is the first book I’ve read by BECKY WADE, and won’t be the last. In fact, only minutes after finishing, I ordered UNDENIABLY YOURS, the first of the Porter brother’s books. I can only hope MS WADE has another in the making for Jake Porter. My interest is already spiked regarding Ty’s brother with so few words. The very first page of MEANT TO BE MINE captured me, pulling me in. A slow reader, I stayed up late into the night, reading until I could no longer keep my eyes open, finishing some ninety pages. If I had the time to sit and read all day, I would have. When I had less than a hundred pages left, I woke the next morning realizing I wasn’t about to get anything done until I completed this amazing story.MS WADE knows not only how to write, but how to create a story that ropes you in and doesn’t let you go. I LOVED the characters…all of them. Each is districted. What she did with the characters may not have worked for other authors, but for MS WADE, it did.If I had to pick one quality of the story that made MEANT TO BE MINE stand-alone from other novels I’ve read, I would have to say it would be the uniqueness of the path the author took the characters on. There were several situations that were easily predictably, not that I had problem with that, because I didn’t. But MS WADE caught me completely off guard by NOT doing what the reader expected. Not once, not twice, but several times. And I LOVED it.I can’t wait for UNDENIABLY YOURS to arrive to read about Bo Porter, and looking forward to the story about Jake in the future. I guess I’ve just found myself a new favorite author.

Excellent Christian Contemporary
I've read this novel twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Set in Holley, Texas with side trips to Las Vegas, Nevada and Corvallis, Oregon you will meet two adults who were friends from high school. Ty's impetuous proposal impacts Celia's life in a big way. Both characters are tough and independent to the extreme, but that's not who they're meant to be. Get a tight grip on your rope so you can hang on for the ride! Lots of twists and turns for Ty and Celia with never a dull moment. The secondary characters are fantastic.Ms. Wade has a writing style she utilizes consistently and Meant to be Mine is no exception. So if you have read another novel of hers then you will not want to miss this one. Highly recommended.
