How To Forgive Ourselves Totally: Begin Again by Breaking Free from Past Mistakes Review: First book I turned to when I needed help - At 42, I experienced the worst break-up of my life, and it was set into motion because of my actions. I could NOT forgive myself for destroying a relationship with a wonderful person. When I looked at all of the books out there, I realized I could not move on from this until I forgave myself. The title spoke to me, and after reading all of the reviews, I purchased the book with an open mind. I was immediately drawn in to the author's style of writing, like he is speaking to you and not lecturing you. He offers profound insight, relevant insight from other sufferers, and beautiful spiritual knowledge that will guide you through your own healing. I forgave myself by the end of the book, something I never thought was going to be possible, and even though I have moved on to other self help books to help me get over my loss, I feel comforted knowing this one is there if I need it again in my journey to healing and being the best person I can be. Review: A must read if you blame yourself - I am half-way through reading this book and I am so encouraged already. Regrets about my past have contributed to my feelings of depression throughout my adult life. I am thankful to the author for writing this book. Finally, I see the reason why self-forgiveness is no longer optional.

First book I turned to when I needed help
At 42, I experienced the worst break-up of my life, and it was set into motion because of my actions. I could NOT forgive myself for destroying a relationship with a wonderful person. All to often...
All to often books such as Total Forgiveness/Forgiving Ourselves Totally, fall short in terms of sound reasoning and teaching. There is a lot of re-hashed and echo-chambered reading out there in this genre with very little original content. Not so with this book. For me, it is wise, powerful and transformative. RT Kendall is not out to make a quick buck with yet another "self-help book. He knows what he's talking about and wants to share. Whether one is a Christian or not, this book, read with an open heart and mind CAN change your life. 5 stars, 5 thumbs way up.

Truly helped me heal
My husband just died and I was struggling with lots of guilt over things done and not done in the past. This book helped me heal and forgive myself. I read it again as soon as I finished. Wonderful book and easy to apply to any situation in your life that you have guilt over.

Real Truths inside
This author seems to depend on the individual readers state of being at the time of the read. This book points out some things one just doesn't normally think about so if your are a thinker this is for you..

We all need to forgive
Forgiveness is something we must do everyday to live peacefully, however forgiving ourselves is often times the last thing we want or know how to do. This book helps us to understand the dynamics of forgiveness, especially when we have been held captive emotionally from things in our past. Everyone has a "past," it can't be changed, but it can be forgiven enabling us to go forward in our lives. Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:14 we must forgive to be forgiven. When we forgive it is for our benefit, not for the one we forgive ( it doesn't mean what they did was ok, but it sets us free). A good read and even better study.

Highly recommend
He explains things in such a way that is not condemning and helped me understand and truly grasp the importance of what Jesus did for us. I appreciate this book and I know I will be referring to it for years. Definitely going to be looking at his other works!

Life changing
This book will bring deliverance from guilt and revelations on your own heart. There are many things that we know as Christians mentally but not at the heart level. This book is profound with the potential to transform your heart forever. I first bought this book for a friend of mine who felt guilty for destroying her marriage. She told me that this book transformed and healed her heart. I decided to buy for me, but didn't read it until now. Just exactly when I needed. This book is a gem. Not just for deliverance from guilt but to acknowledge the awful sin to be judgemental. Seriously, one of the best books I have ever read.

I had to re- read this after a few years because I find that forgiving myself is needed again and again. I am possibly biased because R T was my pastor when he was at Westminster Chapel. To me, this book is very useful and also is well written and clear. The biblical passages with quotes were also helpful.

I read this book with a lot of deep thought. Knowing that God has forgiven you is one thing, understanding the need to forgive yourself is another. This book opened my eyes with revelation to specific areas of my life. I strongly recommend this book.

This is a totally overlooked area in our deeper walk with the Lord. Definitely worth reading and implementing in ones life.

Absolutely excellent read!! it came at the right time for me and was just what the Dr ordered, literally. The author is really in touch with the reader throughout the book. I definitely recommend it for those that struggle to forgive themselves.
