Great build, great looks, great features.
NOTE: The pictured kit is painted in some areas. The RX-78-NT1 Gundam "Alex" is absolutely done justice with this kit. The build is absolutely incredible, with many accessories and an inner frame with simple construction, but great visual detail, especially with paint! Even without paint, this kit looks absolutely fantastic due to great color separation. Every small yellow part you see isn't painted on, that's legitimate color separation. The gatling guns in the arms and CHOBAM Armor are here, of course, but it also features 2 beam sabers, a beam rifle with a new design, a new hyper Bazooka, and a shield. The shield and CHOBAM armor can even open up and reveal the Gatling guns. The CHOBAM Armor even has its own inner frame which also helps with mounting, and comes with a new helmet, which really completes the look. It also features a broken variant of the V-Antenna, based off of how the Alex appears after the Kampfer attacks it. The posability is very good, especially because of the construction of the inner frame. With the armor on, it's far stiffer and harder to pose due to the extreme bulk, but the imposing look more than makes up for it. I absolutely recommend this one, especially as a first MG for builders looking to expand their horizons.

Excellent MG kit of the Alex. My first MG
This kit is my first Master Grade and it was a super fun build. 22 runners seemed intimidating at first but about 6 of them are used for just the Chobam Armor and the inner frame for said armor. So the Gundam itself only uses about 16 which really isn’t bad especially if you’ve build real grades or larger High grades. The build felt very fresh for someone who’s never built an MG yet familiar. Even for experienced MG builders it has a few cool parts like building the gatlings in the forearms. Now onto the finished product out of box. My first reaction to it was “wow, this looks really good”. The color separation of the parts is exceptional. The details in the tiniest spots really make the kit look even better. The size and bulk of it really took me by surprise. (Granted it is 1/100 scale instead of 1/144). The Alex comes with a pretty large beam rifle with a removable magazine, a bazooka, 2 beam saber hilts, 2 beam effects, a shield, 4 sets of interchangeable fingers (fists, open palms, holding, and trigger finger), and the chobam armor (inner frame and actual armor. All of the accessories make it very fun to pose. The chobam armor takes a bit to attach but looks very good once it’s all snapped on. The fingers are very easy to fit weapons into and attach onto the hands. In terms of gimmicks we have a few here. The forearms open up to reveal the Gatling guns hidden inside. The shield opens up to allow the gatling yo fire through it. And you can open the cockpit to reveal the pilot inside. The kit includes a large decal sheet to make it as realistic or anime accurate as you like. Overall this kit is fantastic if you like the Alex and the MG line. I would recommend this as a first master grade but not a first gunpla kit as a whole. Thank you for reading and if this helped you that’s great!

amazing deal and solid kit
at the time of purchase i got the kit for $50+shipping and tax included which is an insane discount. Its the type of price that matches buying it in japan while having it on sale. For the kit itself its a very solid build with a very unique gimmick in the chobam armor. The only flaw is that the articulation is some what limited in the hips due to the somewhat flimsy side skirts and the design might be a bit too old school for some. Other wise its great fun and you can't really go wrong with it especially at $50

Buy. This. Kit!
It's a great kit! Sometimes the simpler the better. I was expecting it to be a huge project and well it was a quick build and such. But do not let you turn you away. The armor is fun. The idea is great.I bought two! So I can. Make a armor version vs the kampfer, and unarmored vs Zaku! The only small problem is that the gatlings are silver when in anime they are black. But hey. It could be much worse.

So Close to Perfect
I had high hopes for this thing and it mostly didn't disappoint.Following the instructions gave me some trouble partially because of my own failings but also partially because some of the diagrams are at weird angles. It only happened 3ish times but it was annoying everytime. Additionally, there are some real real small pieces for this guy that were hard for my hands to place.Once it's built, it's pretty good. Decent enough posability. Comes with enough accessories and the arm gimmick is cool. The engineering used to add on the CHOBAM armor is also really cool. You get like 1.5 gundams in one.Past that, it's a bit of a grenade. I can't get the arms to go together quite right so there's a weird gap that only gets worse when you add the armor. The armor itself mostly stays together but I have some problem pieces on the skirt and one of the legs. I really wanted to love the arm guns but the barrels keep falling off the things so I gave up on that. Most issues can be fixed with some glue or maybe some more finagling with the thing but other MGs have given me less trouble. Others have also given me much more so there's that too. It's a pretty good MG. The Alex is one of my favorite designs and this kit is good enough to satiate me but it could be a little bit better.

Excellent V2 that has been long overdue
Amazing modern MG kit. While it's not the most interesting mobile suit from War in the Pocket (that distinction goes to the Kampfer, though that MS needs a MG v2 as well), it is probably the best MG currently available from that OVA series. There are many improvements over the v1 MG kit, such as excellent color separation, better hidden seam lines and nub marks. The forearm gun gimmick is also less finicky, although using glue will help stabilize it even more. The outer armor and frame is interesting, and a nice addition, though most people will likely not display the NT-1 Alex will the full armor. If you get this, also look into the RE/100 Zaku II FZ.
