I have an Xbox one, PS3 and Amazon Firestick. Some may say I do not need the Firestick. And that's true since I can get what I watch and listen to off all three devices. But I love the simplicity of the Firestick. So with three devices and only two HDMI ports on my TV. I needed an HDMI splitter of some kind. I wanted a simple, effective and automatic way of switching between two devices as the third device would be plugged into the TV. I looked at a lot of HDMI splitters. This one had a lot of great reviews as did others. But it seemed the other splitters had complaints of not automatically switching from one device turn on and off and vice versa. They would have to manually push a button on the splitter. I did not see such complaints on this Zettagaurd. Sure it costs more but it seemed it never failed to automatically switch. So I took a leap of faith and bought it. So I just hooked this device up that is easy peasy. I plugged in my PS3 and Amazon Firestick into the Zettagaurd HDMI splitter. My Xbox One is plugged directly into the TV as is the Zettagaurd splitter. I changed my TV source to HDMI 1 and it works. The Zettagaurd works!! My Amazon Firestick was on and worked like a champ. I turned on the PS3 and holy crap. The Zettagaurd automatically switched over and the PS3 was on my TV!! Turned off the PS3 and the Amazon Firestick was up and running like a champ!! The Zettagaurd does come with a remote. But so far it's not needed unless you're into the PIP mode thing which I'm not. So buy this Zettagaurd with confidence. Sure it costs more. But it works as advertised and looks good if you can't hide it.

This works really well! Have had it for about a year now and it works great! One of the kids broke the HDMI port on our TV and so we only had one working HDMI port. We moved this TV into the basement to become the gaming TV and purchased a new one (with more HDMI ports) for the family (xmas gift). We use this on the old TV that is now the gaming TV and it has the cable, XBOX etc all connected. It works great. The kids use the remote to flip devices and never need to touch the HDMI connections ever again! haha! Problem solved!

My TV only has one HDMI socket. This switch allows me to connect both my cable box and Fire Stick via HDMI cords. When I turn on the TV the switch defaults to my cable box automatically (a nice feature) because my Fire Stick is usually asleep from inactivity (and not detectable). With the switch's remote, I can quickly toggle to my Fire Stick and then awaken it by hitting the home page button on my Fire Stick remote. The switch's remote control allows me to easily go back and forth between the cable box and the Fire Stick. I plugged the switch's USB cord into my TV's USB socket (instead of the USB charger that comes with the switch) because that way the switch automatically turns off when my TV is turned off (and then back on when the TV is turned on). The remote control that comes with the switch is quite small and feels a bit flimsy, but it works perfectly and with no issues whatsoever. The picture-in-picture is very small and a bit hard to make out, but I didn't buy the switch for that particular feature, so it's not a problem for me. All in all, this is an excellent HDMI switch, and I highly recommend it.

It's small, and seems well made. It does what it should: switches between three HDMI inputs on command with limited downtime and artifacts. I only have a HD (1080p) system, so I can't comment on its 4K performance. The auto-switching seems to work fine; however, a lot of modern video devices stay on all the time, so this feature isn't as cool as it seems. Others have mentioned the bright LEDs: they are definitely brighter than average, but I don't find them at all objectionable -- the LED on my Z-wave AC outlets is at least twice as bright. The remote is kind of small, and the buttons take a very definitive push to work. The PIP works well, but has a couple of minor annoyances. 1) All inputs are shown, even if they result in a black screen. 2) The secondary screens are quite small -- 10% of the viewing area? They are useful for tracking say, an on-demand movie that hasn't started, but I doubt that one could tell the difference between two football games at a quick glance.

Our first HDMI switch was unable to pass audio. I am sure that it had something to do with the weird copy protection scheme built into HDMI, but watching silent pictures simply wasn't our thing. The switch was tossed. Our second HDMI switch had no problem with passing audio, but after several months it went wacko. The picture and sound would cut in and out every few seconds. After initially blaming our cable provider, it occured to me that they weren't at fault. It was the HDMI switch failing. The switch was tossed. The third HDMI switch is the Zettaguard 4K x 2K 3 Port 3 x 1 HDMI Switch. It works flawlessly, has a remote and is the first HDMI switch that we've had offering picture-in-picture (PIP.) *** Note to Zettaguard: The PIP images are very small. Making them even twice the size wouldn't take up a great deal of screen real estate, but it would make it far easier to see what is being shown in the PIP windows. If the Zettaguard 4K x 2K 3 Port 3 x 1 HDMI Switch holds up longer than our last switches, we will be happy campers. It has all the features that we could possibly need in an HDMI switch.
